Uhmm, ok, how is the mobile market "too premature for affiliate marketing" ... do you know how many state's attorney generals have investigated mobile offers, aggregators, all the way up to the d-a*mn carriers. And, the MMA. Not to mention civil lawsuits / class action cases. It could not be any more mature.
If you have followed mobile for years, as I have, then you would know that the carriers have done complete 360's over the years in so many regards. They basically bend over anytime a law enforcement agency comes knocking. Whatever the law enforcement community suggests, suddenly becomes a "rule" at Cingular. I am not stating my position, just how it is.
Besides the whole crackdown from the carrier side, you've got the main advertising methods i.e. Google cracking down (requiring prominent pricing, etc).
Mobile has been d-y-i-n-g for so long now. No matter how you slice it, mobile is not where it's happening. My source: declining MMA premium billing statistics (reports from the CTIA).
P.S. I used to manage a top dollar short code with super low churn with a 19.99 price point. I sold it at just the right time =)
