....Huge Post Warning....

I'll be the first one to tell you straight up, that regardless of any new section or channel we launch, the FIRST priority and it remains the most important one for life on here is the quality of the members and content. Do you know why we have so few scammers, spammers, and douchebags here? Because we have a ton of security and monitoring that goes into this place. Not to censor the content or the users, but to ensure that even if we suspect someone at being a shady sob, they are flagged and watched.

Our banned list here is HUGE. Right now, we have 12,000 forum members, and a banned list of over 1700 members. Not to mention, we don't just ban people for trying to rip our members off, we take it to the next level and post ALL of their background information on here. Why? Not to be mean, but to set an example, so that everyone that is even considering pulling a scam on ANY members of WickedFire or through WickedFire will think twice about it. By all means, do what you want on other forums, because the most they'll do to you is just ban you and that's it. We have more than 10 mods here (all of them started out as regular members, and all of them are volunteers) CONSTANTLY monitoring the quality of the content and users. We're all aware of it being a never ending battle.

Sure, other forums are massive compared to us, and in terms of numbers, but when you compare what our advertisers say after a campaign on WickedFire compared to any other type of advertising on and offline, our results blow everyone out of the water. And I'm not just saying that because I own it, I'm saying it because it's fucking true, and even to this day, pretty surreal. (I feel like I say this way too much).

Even now, after being around for more than a year we still have lots of skeptics of this place. But most of them are the anonymous commentors at blogs who turn out to be internet tough guys, so it's no real concern when they refer to us as a bunch of HS and College kids, because when it comes down to it, WE have more medium to high level affiliates per square pixel than any other forum out there. Booyah.

Personally, I think if we do in fact make an adult section/channel we'll be going after the same target market that WickedFire itself goes after. The medium-high level affiliates. We don't want the newbies. No offense to them, but I'd much rather have 10,000 members that at least know their way around the industry, have had success already, are savvy enough to get by on their own and aren't pussy enough to be honest and upfront here than 100,000 members to just inflate the numbers. I doubt we'll ever have as many active members as the larger forums, but I know for a fact that we've already surpassed them in terms of quality in content and member status.

Maybe the adult industry can benefit from it or maybe they don't need us. Regardless, the polls are swaying us towards a yes vote, and the majority rule will decide on the final outcome. If we do end up doing it, I'll also make sure that anyone who is too much of a wuss to deal with adult won't mistakenly find it. We're also going to be VERY selective on whom we allow to participate in it and especially who is allowed to advertise there (if they have a bad rep, just like on here, it's a no-go, regardless of how much cash they have or are offering).

Oh oh with the size of your post I feel like I've been summoned to the principals office, but I would also like to say your RIGHT!

I'm new to this board, and tried to make a post up in the introduction thread to try, and introduce myself, and the companies I own, and work for. Because of the WF rules that I read, I was sure to make a post about myself, and not so much about what I do so that it wouldn't be considered spam ( and it still was sent to the MOD's to be viewed) so I can see that the security level here is high, and I like that.

As far as my other post that you quoted I AGREE, and what I was trying to portray was the fact that this is a QUALITY board, and from the little that I have seen it would really suck to see that comprised, and by reading your post above nothing makes me happier than knowing you would rather keep the integrety of the board in tact than the cash. :)

Getting a jump start on your blog Jon? :D

Gotta love ExoClick.

Shit, all I ever see is text ads on there. Well, that's reason enough to remove Exoclick from my blog I'd say.

I was just testing out their adsense style ads to see if the pictures near the images would get a good CTR, but the ads are completely irrelevant to the content, so that kinda fucked up the whole test for me, ah well. The payouts suck for them, unless you're targeting Casino and Pharma, then they are worthy, for everything else it's been like 10c or less a click, which blows. But for gambling related it's been over $2 a click, which rocks, but doesn't help me out much, haha.

I never tested their adsense style ads because it says in my account that I have to send 100 clicks before being approved publisher status or some crap like that.

But I have bought traffic from them and doubled my money on a forex site...only tested like $50 or $100, can't remember, haven't used them since.

I can't see why adult shouldn't get any attention, there's lots of money to be made in it, and people ARE making tons of cash with it. Sure it has a whole different approach but that's why focusing on this different approach would be very helpful.

There are a ton of adult industry webmaster forums out there, if you visit board tracker there are way too many. The adult webmaster forums are not as classy and business-like as mainstream forums such as yours. I have been lurking for a while and I just had to post after I saw this. Your forum is kind of open to any type of webmaster at this point, and seen as more "mainstream". If you add an adult section, perhaps some people who are surfing here looking to get away from adult forums see a new "adult" area on here, they may get turned off by it.

I , personally, come here for that particular reason. I used to be a member of an adult webmaster forum (I won't name any names) and really just got fed up with the majority of threads being goofy, silly and having nothing to do with business. Your forum is seen as "classier", if you will

All the more reason to add an adult section. Adding a Wickedfire twist to an industry that could use it. A different approach. I think it's a great idea, and I don't see any negatives. You already police the shit out of this place. The worst thing that happens is the banned list grows at a faster rate. If the douchebags of the adult industry try to take it over, you ban them till they leave, or shut it down.

I disagree about the separate branding. I think the Wickedfire brand is a valuable asset and would add credibility where there might not otherwise be. Although I'm not sure what you would have to do as far as separate channels etc., I think a private forum should be adequate.

If you're not looking to dominate the industry, but rather add value and a different approach, why not make it so Wickedfire users have to contact a Moderator to ask to be added to the group that is allowed access to the Adult forum. This would allow you to lock out those that might only come here for the adult section, and focus it on Wickedfire users first, who also happen to have an interest in, or stake in the adult industry. I'm not saying make it overly exclusive, but just keep a closer eye on the types you're allowing in.

I have an adult dating site, and I would love to have a section here where I could get ideas from people I respect. The day Eli posts some bluehat adult shit, I might just wet meself.

Children, what children?! ;)

Well, is 16 still classified as a child?

Please say you aren't 16 or it isn't you in your avatar...

As far as adult stuff goes.. 16 is classified as a child! Legal to fuck yes, but not legal to show your tits online.

Im pretty sure his avatar is that hot chick from Lost

I'm looking for some non-porn adult sites to promote. sex toys and stuff like that. anyone know of any places other than moreniche with this kind of stuff?

Adult? Pfft thats so 1998. No one is gonna reveal any secrets or tips you don't already know. I vote no.

I’d include gambling & pills, in the ‘Adult’ category too. These markets will always be huge because of the nature and privacy of the Net. I think this would definitely increase the number of serious/big players on Wickedfire as well… sounds like a good move to me.

Looks like we are going to go through with it. John agreed to run the show for us. Not sure about adding Gambling to it just yet, only because of the potential legal shit. I'm still not sure if US owned companies (like ours) are allowed to promote gambling affiliate companies and online casinos/betting. I'll have to check with the lawyer about it.

But I am definitely NOT adding pharma to it, because a good friend and member here owns a big forum for pharma affiliates, and there's no way I would ever dick him over by going up against him on it.

We're going to launch the adult area here along with our other services before AD:TECH NY (early Nov).

If your talkin about who i think your talking about, i doubt he would give a fuck considering it isnt that active and he doesnt even approve new members to post haha

Even so, he was there first, and I wouldn't do that to a friend. Not to mention I don't know much about the pharma realm as it is, and aside for him, I don't really know of anyone else who would be qualified enough to run it for us.

sorry for the irony...

GOFUCKYOURSELF.com

or use netpond.com like the rest of us....

wickedfire is for yelling and swearing, not making money...

we just act and talk about money here, not acutally make it. if you want big $$$ start a porn site.
