I've got the Kindle Fire.
I like it a lot. Especially since I loathe most, if not all Apple products.
I'll buy this new version if they fixed the crappy speakers. Aside for that, and the display being fairly small, but not bad either, then I like them.
Of course, one major downside is good apps. Also games. Need better games. But I like the instant sync thing when buying books to read on there, and having it avail both on device and cloud, and my pc, and on Amazon itself. I've been a Prime member since they beta'd it. Its totally worth it since I order most everything from there. Great for shipping, and even better for movies. Their streaming quality is very solid. I even cancelled my Netflix account to use Amazon exclusively.
Biggest downside though, for the current Kindle Fire, is that Google Play doesn't recognize it. So, although the Amazon store is pretty decent, and sure, you can go around it if you want, but it would be good to have Play on there as an alternative.
Its cheap enough to lose it and not give a fuck too. Costs less than most smart phones anyway.
