Another Student Shot

I will tell ya.... I live here in the USA and I have 3 children and it scares me to death sending them to school everyday. This country is so nuts with guns and it just seems like no-one wants to fully take control of the situation!

I cannot wait to go back home to the UK where I don't have to sit and worry all day when my kids are at school. At least the English have more control over the gun situation. The Americans can learn alot from the English!!

It really disgusts me, all these children (our future) being murdered for no apparent reason at all. I mean even if there was a reason, no-one deserves being murdered!! I think they should line up everyone they catch that has murdered someone and kill them the same way that they killed their victims... Sad I know, but that is how I feel on the subject :(

I'm sorry, but people like you piss me off. Tragedies happen. I'm sure they happen in the UK, as well. I would take a guess and say the very very very small minority of parents who "sit and worry all day" when their kids are at school are also the parents who get through their days chuggin vodka and popping depression pills.

If you hate the USA so much then get out a little bit quicker, and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

The only thing that UK "gun control" does it keep them out of the hands of law abiding citizens. Criminals will still get guns no matter what laws are in place against them. Criminals do not care about following laws.

Uh, I hate to burst your bubble, but these sort of instances occur worldwide. And if the USA is not everything you imagined it being, then LEAVE, because it's foreigners like you, that piss us natives off by talking shit about our country!! I apologize for being so blunt, but I hope I can speak for many of us when I say that we are proud to be an American.

People are idiots and intolerant evil fucks everywhere, but I'll give you that the US certainly seems right up there as one of the worst... Us americans are so quick to condemn overseas violence but we ignore it right here at home.

Every other day some politician gets up and condemns the iraqi violence, militant islam, etc, and in the same breath proceeds to tell how he hopes we can kill everyone who isn't just like us, or isn't democratic enough (like the US has even been a democracy - why do we care anyway? who says democracy is best, and what makes them righrt), or doesn't worship us as heros...

I hate to burst ALL your bubbles, but people are people no matter where the fuck you are. Regardless of whether you're American, Canadian, British, German... whatever. It's all the same shit. Shit happens, people deal with it emotionally instead of logically, and are quick to point out the flaws of "other" people. Yet, deep down inside, we're all the fucking same.

Fuck all you people that blatently segragate yourself from the rest of the world because you're "American", "British", or whatver. What makes you different than me? Oh, right, nothing.

EDIT: I'm glad that you're proud to be an American, or Canadian, or whatever, but have you ever stopped to think that maybe it's the flag-waving and "I'm better than you" shit that is the reason for massive amount of international animosity between countries and its inhabitants? In that same token it would be inappropriate to cheer for local sports teams, embrace a national identity or have any patriotism whatsoever because the "I'm better than you shit" will wreck the world. Douchebag.

Why don't you go share these thoughts with every soldier of ANY country who died fighting for their country... see if they agree.

Right, because patriotism and becoming condescending are clearly one and the same. Go think of a better argument and get back to me, I don't have time to waste trying to figure out what you're actually trying to say.

And you know what, I bet that if I talked with soldiers that died fighting in pointless conflicts they'd probably agree with me. It's one thing to fight against oppression and adversity, and something else entirely to fight for the sake of fighting.

Really, though, it seems odd that many of the school shootings happened in middle/high schools; now that some years have passed, this stuff is happening in colleges.

It doesn't matter what country you are from, the "general public" is only concerned about whatever the news people are "concerned" about.

My point was argued in my first post. He didn't understand the concept of patriotism. So I retracted my original point of him being just an idiot, and emphasized it with the addition of a "fucking".
