Was just thinking about how it would be pretty cool to work on a single site in a team of 3-5 people. I mean, surely that would be more effective?.. after the systems get right, of course... then I thought, maybe some guys are doing it. Maybe everyone on WF is working on team sites except for me. Fuck.

Anybody ever worked on team sites b4? Try to build a big authority site?

I try to work in teams on more lucrative tasks like wanking.

i.e one guy holds the lube, the other the cock, a third strokes, fourth tickles the balls, fifth refreshes the aff stats.

etc etc.

Its a cute concept and all, and it can work...

But in reality you just end up having too many people with too many different ideas, concepts, strategies, and far too many other people to point the finger at or blame should something go wrong.

Plus...if you know SEO and can rank, what's the point of teaming up and having to split profits amongst 3-5 people? A 10k/month site suddenly becomes far, far less appealing or exciting.

Of course on the other hand you could say it would allow you to make 10 10k/month sites faster and more efficiently, but Id hazard to say that is nothing more than a cute little pipe dream.

How did you get 10k? ;) What monetization method that is

good luck finding 3-5 SEO people who know what the fuck they're doing, that can actually get along with one another, and are willing to work as a group.

I hate working in teams and having to actually co-operate, but more than that, I hate sharing profits, that's why I became an SEO in the first place.

I'm going to be a great boss, my way or nothing.

Why not just get some people working under you to do writing, admin work, etc. Then you get most of the profits and still have a "Team-like" atmosphere.

This is the best and most realistic goal.. but people you want on a team, don't need and aren't willing to be an employee.

Not saying a team would be easy, but I gotta believe it would be more effective if executed.

Just asking if any of you guys did it. Just curious really.

Seems like there would be synergy between the right people who specializes in SEO and those who are aces with PPC.

If each person had 100% dedication of resources to their specialty they should be more productive than someone diluting their efforts and money between both SEO and PPC. If you combined those two individuals it would seem likely that each would be ahead after splitting the profits.

PPC can provide quick advanced keyword data that gets the SEO side profitable quicker. The SEO revenue could help provide the capital to fund the next PPC campaign which provides the data that jump starts the SEO which . . .

I get the solo / don't trust anyone / don't split profits mindset. It also seems a self imposed limit if you can't get past it. As with any collaboration it's all moot if you don't partner with the right people you can actually work with and trust.

This would only work for highly specialized projects. But generally it can all be handled by a single well organized individual with others working under them.

But for an extremely large websites with millions of page views then it would be sometimes needed to have a dedicated team.
