Anyone else enjoy the Jeremy Lin show?

Rose
Paull
Dwill
Curry
Nash
Lawson
Calderon
Parker
Westbrook
Rondo
Rubio
Lin

Even Players Like Lebron distribute the ball a lot. Unless you are watching CArmelo(pre lin) Durant or Kobe than you have a point. Buts its not as bad as you say.

Rose and Westbrook are in no way point guards but undersized shooting guards with an affinity for ballhogging. So many ballhogs.

@FloydMayweather
Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise.

I have to "partly" agree with him... a young smart Asian guy from Harvard making it in the NBA, obviously the media is gonna be all over him. It's not all talent...

It's funny how floyd had the balls to say that because the next day, jeremy lin hit a game winner shot.

Yes, race definitely does play a role in the Lin hype but if he were garbage, would the media still be talking about him today? It's been 2-3 weeks now and the media is still all over his balls, lol.

Either way, he's one talented player who came out of no where.

Nope, most of those players ballhog and then do isolation, dribble and then either kick out or go for a layup. That's not running an offence that's being a ballhog. Same goes for Nash, he is also a ballhog who will have the ball in his hands way too much. Go back look at Jordan, the NBAs highest scorer, he moved the ball around all the time and didn't ballhog. Players get cold if they rarely touch the ball because the ballhog point guard/shooting guard hoggs the ball. Again, it's fundamentals which are lost on high school ballers and selfish egomaniacs.

To be honest, and this is coming from a Jordan fan, he did do a lot of ball hogging.

90% of the time, he had the ball in the 4th quarter. Sure he made passes, played d but he was widely known for winning championships because of his scoring ability.

Look at his career numbers vs lebron. Almost similar but we all know Jordan is the better player of course.

To say that Steve Nash is a ballhog is really quite disgraceful.. Numbers don't lie and he's number 1 in assists in today's league.

Anyone who knows basketball will KNOW that Jordan did a lot more ball hogging than Steve Nash.

Jordan is a shooting guard and Steve Nash is a point guard. This is why you see Jordan getting 30 points a game and Nash average 11 assists per game.

You also do realize that Steve Nash is the best player in his team right? So obviously, he will have the ball in his hand most of the time. Not only that, he's also the point guard of his team. Which means, the main offense will run through him. Just because he has the ball all the time doesn't make him a ball hog. If you watch his games, he DISTRIBUTES the ball. Which explains why he is number 1 in assists. He doesn't shot 30 times when he has the ball. He does a lot of passing. In fact, all he does is pass. lol.

8th(rose) and 19th(westbrook) in Assists = Ballhog?

I wouldn't really consider Rose or Westbrook to be "real" point guards because they're much more effective in scoring than passing.

Just like yesterday, westbrook scored 40 points and there are many occasions where he won't pass the ball to durant on the final shot. Ego is probably why but it just goes to show that he doesn't want to known for his passing but his scoring ability.

IMO westbrook is definitely a ballhog. He doesn't want to be the "robin" in his team but "batman". There are times where he thinks he's better than Durant and decides to take the last shot when Durant has a better chance of winning the game.

I respect him as a player but when it comes to last shots, he should just give it Durant.

Not this I'm Lebron or Kobe, me me me me, pay me more, I'll take it from here.

Lebron is 1st all time for assists per game by a forward. Larry Bird is 2nd.

Black players seemed to have lost all knowledge of bball fundamentals in the last 10 years. It's all isolation and 1 on 1 play. That's why Lin is a success, he is just playing smart fundamental bball.

The isolations are due in part to rule changes. As pointed out by Wilt Chamberlain, the league changed rules to make Jordan even more marketable, whereas during Wilt's time they changed rules to try to make him less dominant. Lin also benefits, as he drives to the hoop a lot, which wouldn't be as easy with the old rules.

Nash, he is also a ballhog who will have the ball in his hands way too much.

Do you really think the Suns would be better if Jared Dudley and Martin Gortat spent more time passing the ball back and forth? Nash, at age 38, is averaging 11 assists in 32 minutes. 15 per game over his last 6 games. Oh yeah, and he's making 60% of his 2 pt shots and 40% of his 3 pointers. He's a machine.

Yeah, Nash is a great passer, I just think he has the ball too much while his team mates stand around looking at him. And try watching some full matches from the 80's and 90's for a change. A lot more passing going on, the point guard is like Lin, and everyone passes the ball. It's a lot tougher as well, particularly during the Jordan era. All around better game back then. I think the problem is that the NBA was so desperate to find another Jordan when he retired, so they changed the rules to benefit slashers (easy free throws, no hand checking etc) and gloryfying only the athletic shooting guards. As a result every player between 6' and 6'8 wants to be a shooting guard. Not trying to sound like an old cranky dude, but I think team bball is a lot more fun to watch and play.

watch euroleague

that's how we roll

Sure, but the Knicks are going to win the East if Carmelo gets with the team program and then next year every NBA franchise is going to try and emulate it. Can't stop the linvasion.

I grew up watching 80s basketball and agree with most of what you are saying, but Lin has the same coach as Nash used to, and I don't think Nash is doing things much different than he did back then. If you haven't heard it yet, you might like the recent Bill Simmons' podcast with Larry Bird where they discuss a lot of this. Bird says he has been watching Minnesota games because Rubio and Love remind him of when he used to play.

and bron doesnt even want the ball in the 4qt.
Now THAT'S a team player.

Knicks lost today. Someone said a Net had the game of his career tonight.

Maybe that's the flipside of Linsanity, that this circus of attention helps opposing players dial up levels of play usually reserved for the playoffs.

I'm amazed that Lin is still the leading scorer even though melo is back in the line-up.

D-will had an excellent game. He kept draining 3's lol.

Anyways, I'm still on the knicks bandwagon because of Jeremy Lin. My only wish was if melo and baron davis were out of the line-up. Shump's d would've gave d-will some trouble since Lin isn't good at guarding point guards.. unfortunately Shump was inactive today..

Oh well.. onto the next game.
