Ah yes, the groundbreaking IPS display technology that every apple faggot now must have: 2011 notebooks with IPS displays?
If there is one thing apple does that is groundbreaking, it's their marketing. They blow me away with each mediocre product they release that generates a buzz of epic proportions. It's a beautiful thing to watch.
Is this one of those "groundbreaking" technologies that Apple has "invented"?
AKA something that's been around for a while but Apple put an "i" infront of the name so now it's the new hot shit?
It bums me out that Apple is the only company capable of pushing the boundaries of computers. Every other company makes the same old shitty plastic laptops with no advances in design or aesthetics, just ever increasing specs to match the rest of the market, but never leading the market.
Asus tried to compete with their Zenbook but it just ends up being more expensive with inferior build quality to a Macbook Air, and you know it's going to lose its value a hell of a lot quicker.
Pushing the boundaries of computers? Wat?
Most of the shit Apple sells is underpowered and overpriced trash inside pretty exterior cases.
I'll make it clear that I'm only talking about their laptops here, I have no opinion on the 'desktop' Macs.
Blah blah blah sucking Apple cock....
Most computing hasn't even cough up to standard 1080p resolutions yet, so I fail to see how it is a good thing to have such an extreme resolution (and not even a 17" screen). Good luck with that bro. Although the metal body thing is sweet that is really the only thing that is really better than other standard laptops out there because generally Apple does 1 of 2 things.
1) Puts hardware on their computers that aren't beneficial or be used by 99% of users. Examples would be thunderbolt ports and these crazy screens.
2) Overcharges for the shitty hardware they do put in. Example an iPhone.
Spare me the "pushing the boundaries" excuse.
I like to buy quality goods that will last as long as I want them to last. I had 2 Toshiba's before my MBP, the backlight died in my first one (old CCFL backlights, fluorescent tubes with a limited life). What did Apple do? they started using LED backlights that have a practically unlimited lifespan, and made them standard. Now LED backlit screens are on all laptops, but Apple was the first to make them affordable. I believe Sony was the very first to have an LED backlit laptop, but the price was outrageous compared to Apple.
The early Macbooks were made from plastic, and if you look at most of them now, the hand rest area is cracked and broken. What did Apple do? they said fuck this shit and built a laptop out of a solid piece of aluminium. It has taken years for other manufacturers to catch up to this, most of them being partly metal with a plastic bottom, or plastic keyboard surround (zenbook). None of them are solid metal like Apple. Anything close to it is usually way more expensive than a MBP anyway, like the Sony Vaio Z or the Samsung series 9 (retailed for something like $3000 when it came out, it's still a flimsy piece of shit).
That's what I'm talking about when I say they push the boundaries. Currently just about every laptop has a twisted nematic LED LCD apart from some crazily priced Sonys, so Apple is pushing the display boundary to make IPS displays the norm.
Not to mention they were the first to make an ultra thin laptop, the Air. Every slim laptop today is an almost direct knock-off and is no cheaper.

If you want a secure OS, install the latest Debian.
