the OS natively scales apps that aren't made specifically for the Retina displays, just like on the iphone with older apps. Apple would never release something that collectively makes all apps look like shit, and everything isn't going to be 4x smaller, it's going to be 4x clearer.
Adevictus, your argument is that since people are willing to pay for quality, rather than be cheap, we are clueless. I've been programming since 1995, if I've come to a point in my life where I go for quality rather than just be cheap, that's my own prerogative. I run a business, have employees, and i figured out early on, it makes more sense to buy quality computers and hardware, backed by a company that is so super customer service oriented, i can give them my broken computer and they give me a brand new upgraded model if they cant fix it. See i dont waste time on IT support and shit like that. I have to get things done to become "wealthy". If you want to sit around fucking with PCs and virus, and shitting graphic cards, with cheap equipment, that is your right. There are reasons why people buy luxury cars when they get money, cause of quality, yeah they can still buy the Hondas and shit, but why when you dont have to? You dont have to go cheap with everything, there is the quality aspect, but again, if you want cheap setups, you get what you pay for. $6000 for a computer setup that will make you hundreds of thousands of dollars is a good investment in my opinion. All you are doing is crying about price. Go make some fucking money first, before you complain about how I spend my hard earned money.

Exactly, that is why you are broke. A great setup lets you focus on the money, regardless of its PC or mac. But again, your broke, cause you are complaining about price, and stating everyone is fucking retarded as your only defense.
Sounds like fun a fun call is to be expected after a designer/developer sends clients a mockup of something designed on their Retina display and the client opens it on their peasant monitor. Resolution and monitor colors already cause a lot of issues.

if you are seriously gonna buy a laptop with IPS display just to plug it into 3 monitors with less resolution you have no clue what you are doing

I gotta agree with most of this, but Hondas quality isn't going to take back seat. As an example, just yesterday I finally replaced the riding lawn mower my grandfather bought back in 79 or 80. It just kept working and had good features. He never waste his hard earned money, but he always bought good high-quality stuff that could be relied on and would last a long time. My dad was the same way. There's a reason contractors don't buy tools at walmart.

I'm a PC guy and picked up a refurb i7 mac book air last week - getting my head around the navigation still but have to say the quality of the product is what you pay for. Excellent. Just went back with it and exchanged it for the latest i5 MBA - a little more but fast chip and USB3. Lack of optical drive can be avoided with the use of the zalman hdd caddy which allows you to mount iso files, computer thinks it an optical drive 
Other likes have to be the gesture trackpad, great for scrolling and moving back/forward in browser. I've yet to do any work on it however I have a feeling I'll be running VMware fusion or bootcamping Win 7.
