Apple's live event today for iPad mini, new Macs

They use Foxconn and Intel like everyone else. The only difference is the chassis.

Why is it so hard for every other company that's out there today to produce a chassis that isn't fucking plastic? What is it about $3 worth of aluminium? This I do not understand. Microsoft are trying with the Surface because Samsung, Asus, Acer, HP etc will churn out the same shitty plastic unimaginative rubbish they always have. Now they're all butthurt that Microsoft made their own hardware, but it's about time someone did it right.

Here's hoping Microsoft produce a phone and laptop of Surface quality. I will pay a premium for it too so I don't have to use Boot Camp on my MBP anymore.

HERP DERP THE ALUMINUM UNIBODY DISPLACES HEAT BETTER

Just kidding, I don't know if it does or not. I like the build of Apples though, even though their entire OS is just a rip of Linux.

Well, Im speaking on my own experience here

A year ago I had a iMac 24, and being the video guy, I shot a lot of stuff and edited it all on the supercool, development friendly, blessing from above environment (and without any cords and wires! no wires!) called iMac.

I had some intense (quantity) video editing to do, but the footage I edited wasn't heavy by any means, 720p video is really nothing to be excited about in this daynage, especially if you're working on such robust, perfect development environment, with CPU and GPU coolers slapped right behind the display that makes the colors POP bro, they just pop, no way around it, when it comes to colors, they fucking pop on the iMac. I used the thing for video (720) edit, Photoshop and Chrome. Fuck your days and nights if you consider that "heavy duty" by any means.

After a while I really got to like the Snow Leper, wont lie. It was refreshing after so many years on Windows, change is good from time to time.

Then, one day, the fucker went blank white on me, out of the blue (see all the color references? thats cos the colors pop). Now, some Apple cunt may step up and point at me for making a mistake here (go fuck yourself) but no - I didnt look into it, since my previous long ass PC experience didnt really stress me to a point Id get extra paranoid after 1 computer hickup. I figured the iMac's being silly for a second. After all, you know how those funny, quirky little Apple nerd hippies joke - if it crash its flash.

Then, after 2 weeks, white screen of glory awaited me upon boot, with no warning or notice why or how. Reinstallation failed, all of my attempts (methods I used on PC) failed. All of my files were utterly inaccessible, and with the hard drive being tucked ever so neatly behind the color popping sealed glass, I had no choice but to take it to the shop. So I did it. Few days later they said that the drive was "failing" for some time but DUE TO EPIC UNIBODY DESIGN I WASNT ABLE TO HEAR THE DRIVE CLICKING - EPIC WIN UNIBODY DESIGN BRO. The data was unrecoverable - because the powerful, beautiful iMac kept working even with hard drive slowly deteriorating, with no warnings or notifications. So thats always cool, 200+ GB of files down the drain.

Wait, what is it you say? Backup?

Well this may seem like a fabricated story (believe me or dont believe me, fuck I care) but I do have an external WD My Book drive right next to me, with all my backup on it, BUT the thing doesn't work anymore since the OSX driver and the hard drive controller stopped getting along, and OSX driver fucked up to a point I couldn't even shut down the My Book (long press power button) if the device was connected to iMac with firewire or USB cable...now thats epic!

Imagine that, if I wanted to shut the MyBook down with its own fucking power button, I needed to

a) unplug the firewire cable

or

b) unplug the power cord

How cute. The thing works on a PC but I cant read it due to the epic file system.

Anyway, with the flawless experiences with my 1st iMac Apple color popping wireless cluterless power computer, I decided to pull the triggers on the i7 27 model. Give it another chance, rite? One thing I noticed right after I got it (apart from the EPIC THIN BODY BRO) was the dumb ass Lion OS...what a piece of shit software, compared to the Snow Leper.

Then, another thing I noticed was how fucking HOT the EPIC THIN UNIBODY DESIGN BRO got when I fiddled around in Premiere...geezus. But wait! All that heat didn't just dissipate into thin air. Oh no, it actually served a purpose, to overheat the GPU because the retarded OSX controlled fan didnt pick up. So after few minutes of LABOR INTENSIVE COMPUTING BRO (Shotofop, some forsaken OSX videogame for killing time, or plain Google Krome) this was the result, these are my screenshots from those glory days on a new, full out i7 3.4 27 mac.

Oh shit bro, these colors POP in such way its amazing, I wish Jon Ivy saw this and leaned in a bit and popped his eyes out to emphatically tell me how this is the single greatest, world changing display of color ever witnessed by man (with minimalistic guitar medley music over the clinically white background)

I got rid of this problem with some fucking update that finally resolved the GPU issue - it made the GPU fan blast basically all the time so the fucker doesn't heat up. Now this may come off as a surprise to all of you here, but I wont be buying this epic unibody "looks so good on my desk bro" color-popping amazeness anymore.

And to all the hippies out there, YES I had issues, many issues with PCs, just like you have issues with a fucking car or anything you use and abuse..but the thing is, PC is accessible and if you know shit or two about it, you can DIY with no problems - and I did that for all my life, never lost any important data, NEVER. So, speaking in car analogies, iMac is just an overpriced kit-car with good looks, hood and boot welded shut and glovebox openable only at the Apple garage.
