Every so often I stop by BMEZINE to check out their tattoo pics (now BMEINK.) Here are some of the most recent pictures I found of people showing off their new tattoos:

Im inked up, and I fucking love it...

Not only has the image that it puts off gotten me more ass than a toilet seat, but it somehow makes me more confident. From a social standpoint, it really does make a difference, and while old men and grandmothers may look at me differently, as well as the police, girls love it, and people of my generation, for the most part, seem to be gaining a respect for the art.

Fat people or ugly people all inked up is a different story, as is the dipshits that get tattoos on their faces and shit.

On second thought...
It really depends on the type of person you are, and the image you have, as well as your social standpoint and the type of people you tend to associate with.

There's a big difference beetween the Tommy Lee rockstar ink image, and an old bearded biker covered in ink... You know?
It's different for everyone...

It's like trying to ask if you should have hair or not, or if "blonde" is still cool.

It's different for each and every person.

Take an ugly book nerd and give him bleach blonde hair, itll look fucking stupid.

But itll be good on other people.

All true. It all depends on the subculture you're in...To an untrained mainstream eye, a tattooed guy in a raincoat might be perceived as only a weird freak, while he could actually be a demigod among his peers and get tons of love, booty and respect from people he associates with.

very nicely put MisterX

Not every subculture understands every other, this is why so many clash, and people will butt heads on views...

While old school cowboy types might think people with tattoos are young punks or freaks, the young punks or freaks thing the old people are rednecks that dont know anything...
Its all just a big misunderstanding really... But enough of the political BS...
I love my tattoos and my piercings...

I live in a town of less than 700 people in Southeast Kansas.
I have more tats than everyone else combined (15)...

They don't like, they can simply fuck off. Out of respect I have a grandfather that has been a preacher for 40+ years and he's never seen any of my tattoos. Course I only see him about twice a year. Another thing is that when I was 18 I had my ears pierced and I never want to find out what type of fury hides behind the look he gave me.

I like tats and have got a few but unlike most people I only ink myself if it looks good and if it has a personal purpose for me to do so.

Fuck I meet so many people with tattoo's that say they have no clue why they have them other then they look cool. I always laugh at them cause all mine actually have a real story that goes with them other then the most popular one I've heard "Yeah you know got drunk woke up said oh fuck".

Tats and piercings are great. I want more, but take so fuckin long deciding and designing that only have a couple (tats that is... want more piercings, just not sure where).

I decided a few months ago that the day that I'm making enough money on IM to quite my day job is the day I get my tongue (re) pierced. I know that's so 90s (which is when I got it done the first time) but I took mine out to be a slave to the Man and I thought it would be an symbolic milestone of of a personal achievement. (Weird ,I know)

I just think people completely over do it. And the ones who don't over do it, get something really cliche like barbed wire, a rose, or chinese characters in which they have no clue what it means.

but hooray for tramp stamps!

I don't have any tats, but I feel like one day I might. I just have never found anything meaningful to put on my body forever... and i'm not a dumbass who would get some barbwire or japanese letters or some shit

turbolapp - As a matter of fact, if you have the right jewelry, tongue rings are now sexier than ever! Well, to me anyways...

Plastic and glowing shit is out. Fuzzy rubber barbell balls are out. Neon colors are out.
Simple, smooth, and stainless is the way to go.

With the rest of you, yea, I totally agree... Every tattoo I have is meaningful... There is a few seconds of every single day where I think about tattoos because I want another so bad (it really does get addicting to some people; the smell of Green Soap gives me a hard on... If you have some ink you know that smell of green soap), but Ive been holding off for nearly 2 years now on getting anything new, because im trying to design a few pieces to merge together, and ever single thing in a collage needs to fit, and has to mean something to me...

Even my 1 drunken tattoo means something to me... I only got drunk because I sucked at drawing and I did the tattoo myself, upside down, so the alcohol actually helped stop my hand from shaking.
