Are you into tactical knives ,weaponry, swords, hunting etc? better buy your shit NOW

I am into martial arts and weaponry, do you not have hobbies of your own?

I'm just fucking with you man....I've never heard of people collecting those before. It actually looks relatively cool...I just can't see a practical use for it like a knife or gun.

whether or not a person ever needs a sword/machete is irrelevant, it's the fact that government wants to control you by saying what you can and can't have. under obama, our rights will become less and less.

@BY, it's not necessarily for really defending yourself, as much as it is a deterrent. Criminals admit they are less likely to attack someone who they believe may be armed.

As they say, an armed society, is a polite society.

@Zimok, it goes even further. A lost concept in our modern societies is property rights. You have the right to own anything for self-defense, as long as you are not using it to aggress against others. Just as you have the right to paint your house any color, or to have sex with who you want, or to smoke what you want, or eat what you want, or dress how you want.

Tasers will be next, followed by stun guns. After that, baseball bats will only be sold to licensed little-leaguers.

I wouldn't get it out in time.

And statistically, people are more likely to injure themselves when owning deadly weapons. People for the most part are hurt and murdered by those closest to them. Didja know?

This is why you buy the quick opener folders with the belt clips, clip it on the inside of your pants/jeans (at the front of course), and it's right there for you to grab.

Only idiots that shouldn't own weapons in the first place hurt the ones closest to them, but in any case whether it's a tactical weapon or a knife out the kitchen draw, there is always something around that can do damage.

Guys, there's no sense arguing with BY. He's obviously a bleeding heart liberal that believes everyone should be disarmed. Turn in your knives, guns and spoons. That way, you won't have any legal way of defending yourself against the criminals that - who, oh by the way don't give a shit what the law is - still carry whatever they want.

BY, I'm glad to hear you've been lucky your entire sheltered life. Some of us haven't had that same luxury. I've seen some of the shittiest parts of this country and been lucky as well. The only difference, I was prepared to defend myself with whatever means necessary. Sometimes that was a 1911A1, sometimes it was knife, but I didn't have any illusions about being safe just because I didn't flash my cash or wear flashy clothes.

Ok, just finished up spending up (I think), all up $3,400 got me a whole bunch of Columbia River and Sog folders and some ka-bar bowies, got four Sog fusion tomahawks and various swords.

Anyone got any good suggestions on folders? whats your favorite brand?

I still don't think I'm finished.

FUCK YOU OBAMA.

My fav is Benchmade, Spyderco is good and you can get a ton of stuff from smoky mountain knifeworks.

I own a SOG and a CRKT along with numerous cheap knives but in my opinion I don't really see a reason for banning the knives. My steak knife is just as deadly as my SOG in 99% of cases. I support Obama for the most part but I am starting to get sick of this disarming everyone and telling everyone what they can and can't consume. It just isn't him though because most of it is being dictated by congress.

that's scary but you're giving the Fed way too much credit. imho, this whole country is whacked and the Obama posse doesn't have a clue how to fix it.

Let's continue to subsidize floundering American manufacturers for a few more years, ignore the failing bank infrastructure, impose unrealistic environmental protectionism on us (aka "clean energy"), continue to hype the global warming theory even though our world is cooling -- despite an increase in CO2 emissions... I could go on but I won't. This is gonna be fun to watch.

Anyway, these ying-yangs couldn't regulate themselves out of a wet paper bag let alone fix our larger problems. I highly doubt they'll be much threat to my cutlery cabinet.

see you on ruby ridge obama...

In Australia, the culture of "carrying a blade" is a very recent & disturbing trend . Many school age kids now carry a knife, as though it's something normal. That's a sign of a sick society IMO.
The old adage still holds true, "you live by the sword, you'll die by the sword". Commonsense & awareness of your surroundings go a long way to living a relatively safe & peaceful life. To think you need to have a weapon on your person for everyday social interaction is just plain twisted.

Yes, but there is a difference between punk ass school kids that carry knives around and responsible adults that carry them for self defence with a knowledge that anything can happen at any time.

It's the fucktard adults that skyte there knives and weapons in front of kids that encourage them to carry and own them in the first place without showing them how to responsibly use them, therefore they treat them like just another toy.

But again, I'd argue that the need for any person other than a cop or soldier to carry a weapon in public is alien to the general Australian ethos. This idea of "I need a weapon" is of recent origin, and I would tend to think, attributable to the "Americanization" of Australian society. It's certainly not a commendable trait to develop IMO.

(american) indians walked around every day with knives and didn't stab eachother whenever a fight broke out.

No, it's the criminal that may try to rob my ass that is alien to the general Australian ethos.

I have never been robbed or had anyone try to rob me, god help the fucker that tries though.

Fuck the police man, they only give a shit once something happens and they aren't always there now are they?

I don't have a cop or security guard with me 24/7 do you?
