Looks like this new Panda BS hit a few of my sites. The problem is that i have been very careful and picky about link velocity and also where the links come from but still a few sites got hit..

I am using contextual links as much as possible, private networks, ALN, wiki sites and i couple these with social bookmarks and tier2 links..

Are you guys having similar experiences? Any one have any tips on how to avoid or fix this?

Here are also some boobs for reading this :)

I got knocked back a bit recently, I've heard of a new penalty or something about ads above the fold. My main project now I've been using private blog networks with some HPBL. They might be discounting these links.

yeah watch out for ads above the fold

Has anyone been doing any testing with what can get your rankings back and was successful? :) I will be starting my testing today and was wondering if anyone has any tips.

As for above fold ads, haven't heard about that, but i read that having a site that makes the visitor scroll down for content can get you a drop in your rankings.. We are not doing that so that is not the problem..

Had a few sites drop back a bit, mainly ones with content pushed to the bottom - even without ads (ie ecommerce style sites with product listings at the top and content at the bottom of the page).

Also had been using ALN on a few tier 2 properties which I had on the front page for low competition terms, most have dropped back a few pages. Possibly just the articles slipping back through the pages on the sites as I've stopped using ALN though.

Nice boobs.
lost rankings last week of January, start to see them go up again in the last 3 days.

the new update which went in 2 days back is mainly related to on site visitor time spent and bounce rate. This is different from the above the folds update that went into affect in last week of jan. they are updating their indexes and algos faster than a baby changing a diaper.

SEO will be dead in 6 months from now then just pray for good rankings

I built a new site recently. Used SEO Powersuite Website Optimizer for onpage. Got up over 90% for a single 2 word KW for most pages. Been throwing a variety of links at it with very varied anchors inc. some social as well.

The site began ranking last week. I hit 11 for one of the main kw on the home page. one kw ranked for a different page than was optimized for. Most of the pages were ranking for the kw specified. yesterday everything went haywire.

rankings dropped to mid 100's but every kw is for an unoptimized page. weird.

I expect this to be the new site dance until things stabilize.

Anyone else see their pages ranking for non optimized kws?

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Well i have to say i am seeing really strange stuff.. From going from number 1 to 53, to going from number 8 to 400+. This last example was after an ALN service that i bought from WF.. I did mix it up with wiki links so that it is not just one type of links but still it went down the tube..

And yeah, i am also seeing unoptimized pages being before the one i optimized at the moment..

I am almost certain that these penalties could not have come from my link building efforts but i do believe that some new G change triggered this shit, now i just need to digg out what the hell triggered this. I don't do spam links but mostly bookmarks, wikis, web 2.0 and a lot of private networks either from here or the usual ones (ALN..) so i think that is not something that should trigger this, or most of WF would be seeing these results..

I'm seeing something similar to this for one of my sites. Sitemap is ranking for my main KW, while my homepage is nowhere to be found.

No ALN, No Wikilinks, No private network links on this site.

Maybe if everyone who sees drops mentions that he diversifies with wikilinks, that could be the poison that fucks up your rankings.

ALN is the shit, sites rank on that alone.

IceToEskimos, that is info that i can work with. What kind of links did you make for the site? Are you updating it with content often? Adsense site?

wayn3 go sig whoring somewhere else. This thread is do discuss ranking changes and how to fix them. If you did any testing then give us the results, saying ALN is the shit doesn't mean jack shit to me.. I am using ALN on almost all of my sites but still many of the got hit..

This site is only about a month old, so obviously there's room for some dance in there, but it was sitting at #8 for two main KW's, and 3 days ago it just dropped out of the SERPS.

No Adsense, site had about 2k bookmarks, AA blog comments, Web 2.0 on it when it dropped.

Initially, I thought the drop was due to some less than user-friendly JS I had placed on the site, but I removed that instantly, and I haven't seen any improvement beyond the sitemap suddenly appearing to rank for both main KWs.
