Wow, interesting. However the call to action on the LP is "How to Vote"? People are dumb enough to click on something "How to Vote"?
A lot of effort went into this fake campaign to convert a CPA offer but I wonder if the owner split tested the call to action button? ;)

I saw this on reddit the other night and found it very thought provoking. I've actually heard this before, but I forget from whom. It was part of an hour or half so lecture a political scientist gave at a college (a special presentation thing, he wasnt a prof.)

Its a Ron Paul speech

How to vote is relevant because RP's message resonates with the people who vote the least- young kids.

Love it, I always have used that example when explaining how us being over there makes them hate us. No one has an answer when I say, what if China had military bases here and tried to take over the country.

D'uh, they already do...

As a Ron Paul supporter... It is silly to compare Chinese in Texas and our Troops in Iraq/Afghanistan

EDIT: inb4 RP fanbois trying to make this comparison work.

It isn't that I don't see the relationship or understand what is trying to be communicated here.

It's just there is NO good comparison for our troops in Iraq/Afghanistan that I can think of off the top of my head.

I don't feel like making this overly long so. To answer your short question I give you a short answer.

By us not being controlled by a dictatorship and having a freely elected government that gives us global moral superiority in the western world opinion/media in the event of a invasion by China.

More to the point we're a members of good standing in both NATO and the UN.

Also... we have WMDs.

Also... we have the largest and best standing military forces in the world.

Those last two are not rationalizations or justifications they are only facts that are not being considered in a Chinese invasion of Texas. Making it a poor comparison.

Have you ever stepped foot outside of this country... ever?

Global Moral Superiority - are you serious? I'm shocked that anybody still believess this bullshit. We invade countries for purely financial reasons and kill thousands of innocent people and you think we somehow have global moral superiority?

I didn't say I believed it or that it was true. I'm just telling you that in today's world there would be world wide condemnation of China's occupation of Texas in the western media.

Hence 'global moral superiority'

Most of you need to stop feeling so damn guilty for living in America.

We aren't perfect but we aren't the Chinese government either.

And from my original post:

It isn't that I don't see the relationship or understand what is trying to be communicated here.

<<<---------------------------- Don't you see the Satire?

Yall are mistaking propaganda and the media with facts.

I was commenting on propaganda and media.

RP supporters are hung up on facts... which is why he'll never be elected (sadly).

Yes I've been to China, Australia, Italy, and France.

Going to England (for the first time) and France again in 1 week.

You?

Yes. I've lived half my life in Europe (Hungary, Greece) - I've been around. Looks like you have too which is why I'm taken aback by your arguments.

No offense but you sound like one of those people you see on TV that are engaged in some kind of trivial activity and go on to say, "Where else can you do [INSERT TRIVIAL ACTIVITY HERE THAT ALMOST EVERYONE ELSE DOES AS WELL]? This is America, the freest and best country in the world!"

As if everyone outside of this country lives in shacks and is afraid to speak out against their governments, etc., etc...

In short, what I'm trying to say is that we don't have any special rights to occupy other countries no more than they do for us. It's exactly the same thing. In the eyes of the Arabs, we're the terrorists/aggressors. And you know what...? They're right!

Yeah. I get all that. I do. I promise. I understand that argument.

(and i should remember to never give a 'short answer' it never works out the way I communicate on forums)

But. We're good at manipulating the world into going along with us. Something the Chinese haven't figured out yet. That's one of the reasons i don't like the comparison.
