Atheists making a statement in the PA Capital

But seriously, not trolling at all. Atheists mess up because they only accomplish things like removal of all Christian symbols and speech from the public sector by the use of Brute Force.

I am a christian. When I see humanism taught in school, I dont try to get it removed. I just keep an open mind and deal with it. When I see a mosque, I dont try to have it removed. When I see evolution taught in school. I just accept it and go along.

I dont understand the mindset atheists have of getting offended every time they see a cross or bible, so much so that they have to try to have all religious symbols moved from public life. It seems the ignorance is on the side of the atheists.

If you are so offended by something, why do you spend so much time dwelling on it?

This is a classic case of the squeaky wheel gets the grease. The majority of atheists are like the majority of Christians. They go with the flow and mind their own business. In fact, you wouldn't know that most atheists were atheists unless you asked them; the same way that you wouldn't know most Christians were Christians unless you asked them or attended services together.

But the fringe on both of these sides scream and yell and bitch and moan about everything. So they're visible and they get the press coverage and people from the opposing sides assume that ALL atheists and ALL Christians must act and behave in the same manner as the loudmouths.

That's why I'm glad I'm agnostic. I don't give a shit either way. Don't push your beliefs on me, no matter if you're a believer or a non-believer, and we won't have a problem. If I'm curious or want to know something I'll ask. If I don't ask and someone starts preaching the merits of God or the merits of no-God to me I generally give them a disgusted look and walk away.

I've found that most people that do that type of shit just like to hear the sound of their own voice anyway, so they can talk to themselves and I don't have to listen to them. That way we both get what we want.

I believe there is a stat floating around that Athiests are responsible for more deaths than Christians and Muslims combined.

I do not believe there is a stat floating around that Athiests are responsible for more deaths than Christians and Muslims combined.

Whenever one group of people believes strongly enough in anything, people are going to die.

Especially when that thing you believe says that you inherit the divine right to eternal life, and all other infidels are evil sinners who deserve burn in hell for their ignorance. That makes killing the infidels justifiable.

I see your point, but if you're trying to compare atheism or agnosticism as a "belief" alongside organized religions that doesn't really work. Even the most extreme atheists don't believe that organized religions are "evil" (as far as I'm aware) and deserve some sort of punishment as a result of their beliefs. However, pretty much every organized religion does view that everyone outside their religion deserves to be punished. Even the unextreme (what is the word I'm looking for?) christians believe that I am going to burn in hell for eternity *and* that I rightly deserve it.

Wonder how long it lasted:

Actually, the nature of the belief is irrelevant. Human beings have a need to find order in the universe, and construct systems that allow them to feel as though they have some greater understanding of the myriad intangible forces that act upon them every moment of their lives.

This doesn't really work though, so the next best thing is to arrive at a consensus, which gives people a sort of "intellectual Nuremberg defense". This is why the prevailing "wisdom" of any age is so violently defended.

tl;dr

We know very little about anything as a species, so it makes us feel better if we are all on the same page, and we are willing to kill to achieve that peace of mind.

Such cowardice cunts. I wonder what would happen if we ran around defacing every religious billboard in sight. Seriously, I guess we know which side can't take criticism or free speech. True bible thumpin cowardice right there.

I'm thinking that you're thinking that religious zealots took that down...

It was at 13th and Paxton...I'm thinking you're thinking the wrong demographic...

You mean like the prayer plaque that was removed from a school last week, at the behest of an atheists? Or more like the removing of the 10 Commandments for a courthouse in Bama? Or more like the banning of the phrase "Merry Christmas" during Christmas? Or more like the prayer plaque at WWII memorials being removed? All at the hands of whiny atheists.

Who's the "Such cowardice cunts" now?

Then I guess you'd be happy to see Muslim shit mixed in with the government if the Muslims out-populated you Christians, right? There's a fucking reason there is a separation between church and state. The above shit is just the enforcement of it.

Ya i don't know where that is. Either way, they were likely religious. And either way, I'm obviously being inflammatory without knowing 100% what went on.

But this sort of shit happens all the time because fairy-tale believers outnumber the non-believers right now.

Can you show me constitutionality of seperation of Church and state? The problem is, there will always be "church" in state. Even if all politicians were atheist, they would be pushing their religious agenda through laws. EVERYONE has beliefs, even the ones that claim not have beliefs.

I swear Atheist's today are a bunch of hipster faggots.

If you really are an atheist who gives a fuck what anyone else believes in. Putting these kind of billboards doesn't do shit. Just makes you look like a believer by saying "herp derp you're a loser if you don't believe in not believing in a god".
