I've always argued for a "dead when red" standard. Once someone's rep gets pummeled to the point that it turns red, it should trigger an instaban.

I didn't think Pewep should have been banned (until he asked for it). But then again I also don't use ad blockers and refuse to update my host file to avoid dickrolls. And I even like the fact that there is a DH in the American League, and not in the National League. I think it adds a significant amount of strategy during interleague play.
His act got annoying and just wasn't funny anymore. He was like a stale vaudevillian who kept getting booed and wouldn't leave the stage.

they are allowed around because they drum up drama and posts counts. I run a gaming forum and I allow the same type of shit because it increases forum/user/registration activity. BUT if the users of the forum speak out against it, i will banhammer them like whoa, FOREVER.

People have been trying to ban pewep and I personally tried banning Dresden several times.
Jon is of the opinion that banning them is useless because they'll just come back anyway, so he decided to lift the bans.
I am quite unmotivated to go into a lengthy political debate on this, as I got completely overruled the last times.
So I ban spammers and useless fuckers left and right (I do it quietly, so you don't notice it most of the time), I just won't touch the big trolls.
Simply not worth my time getting into discussions on how some racist hate spewing nazi idiot or some braindead troll are the salt of the earth and should be protected.

I would have guessed that by now most of the big forum platforms would give the ability to limit certain users to being able to only start so many new threads a month, or to limit the amount of posts they can make in a day. Options like that might be more effective than outright bans.

I have several forum accounts and they are all an old accounts and I have been using it rarely when I try to login back to check some personal messages I found out that my account has been banned. Is there any way to get them back.
What do you need several forum accounts for? Sounds like a good reason to ban your ass.
