Breaking Bad - [SPOILER ALERT]

Yeah I agree, it started out as some way to sort things out, but now it's become a FU to the world.

I wonder if it progresses to the extent he kills gretchen/her husband or something...

One thing that I find really intriguing about the show is that it's about a bunch of characters in a very specific period of time, and all of them have backstories that are intriguing but rarely discussed. Marie steals shit, Mike used to be a cop but isn't for some (presumably bad) reason, Gus was some Chilean badass, all of Madrigal Electromotive stuff, Walt and Gray Matter (which thankfully was mentioned a bit last night), Skylar and the Ted fuckery in the past.

The meth and the killing is all fun to watch, but the idea that all these characters have specific backstories that landed them all in this same situation, all from different entry points, is what really gets me.

10 episodes is too rushed. I assume Skyler starts outing and the shit hits the fan.

Expected it to be more about the drugs and Gus Fring, but they have completely sidestepped this. In reality, the Sinaloa Cartel run the meth industry that they haven't thought much about either. Anyway, still probably the greatest TV show for me, it's just ending too early.

He's an antihero.

His 52nd birthday is presumably when he dies, i.e. the clips we saw at the beginning of series 5.. Although we're not going to see that until next summer.

Yep you got the point I think. That clip is the most important we have seen in this series because explains a lot.
He's filthy and tired. He's getting away from his state, maybe followed after by DEA or cartels, he's hiding and buying a weapon.

It's the character development and back story that makes it so awesome in the end, totally agree. You can relate to all the characters and see how they ended up the way they are. With lots of drug based series'/films you just see badass drug dealers, but nothing about where they came from or what led them down that path.

Lots of the less interesting "filler" episodes as such with all the drama between Walt and his wife, or him/Jesse/Mike and such add tons to the back story and make the action filled episodes all the better.

You're saying Walt isn''t a mega asshole? Explain that one to me. I don't like Skyler, I just think Walt has surpassed her in being an ass.

Yes he is, no doubt. To feel for Skyler is just stupid in my book. Bitch cheats, takes part in the cover business, steals 650k, and THEN doesn't Walt to see his own children.

If Skyler is afraid of the "bad guys" coming to hurt the children then get some top notch security. Hire someone like Mike or a few to keep an eye on the house. Hide out in a low key place together. Fucking whatever. She had no problem spending his money before.

I'd feel safer with that than my kids staying with a gimp and clepto. And considering how Walt's not some low level drug dealer, people wanting to do harm are going to know where Hank lives and could just as easily nab the kids for leverage.

Are we ever going to see badger and skinny pete again? They only had one appearance this season

It doesn't really seem like they'll play an active role again. Jessie doesn't really seem to trust them and at this point there isn't really any need to bring them back.

This. I'm hoping they make a side series of Gus becoming what he was

ya know, I just am not satisfied with that last episode. I didn't see a reason to kill him off this soon.

One thing's for sure: Jesse is not going to be happy when he finds out

He's dead for sure, i think the guy who was gonna buy the chemical liquid for 10mil is gonna be the new dealer and they will have a fight with him

I'm with you on this, Mike was one of my favorite characters for sure.

well the thing is, when a show kills a character I like, it's compelling because I'm attached to that character and it usually comes out of nowhere. But it was just so obvious that Mike was gonna get killed. For instance, they didn't have to show Walt finding the gun in the bag...they could have just shown Mike opening the bag and seeing the holster, then he's shot.

By showing us the bag's contents early, it killed the surprise completely. It just wasn't executed well in my opinion, it felt like "psttt we're gonna kill Mike soon!...oh look we killed Mike"

lol @ all you guys watching SOA. Watch REAL bikers on "The Devils Ride". They're so respected they can only wear a nomad patch.

They really did do a good job of making you hate Walt, I found myself rooting for Mike and hoping he'd somehow escape and kill that son of a bitch.
