Buy a juicer

Slow juicers are the way to go

Guys get a slow juicer, here's a juice-off between the slow juicer and a high-RPM Breville:

+ better quality juice
+ can do almond milk
+ can do wheatgrass
+ quieter

My setup is Champion Juicer + 2 ton juice press. I am greedy... I want all of the nutrients!

Another alternative is Norwalk, but it is around $2300....

How much do you think you spend on fruit and veggies for a single serving of juice? Thanks.

Just bought 40lbs of organic carrots yesterday for $44. Found a place that sells organic apples for like $70 cents per lb.

So for 10 bucks a day I can have shitload of carrot-apple juice.

Going to introduce green juice these week, which is romaine lettuce, red cabbage, Granny Smith apples and bunch of other greens. This one might be a bit more expensive, but I won't do it as much as carrot-apple juice.

How much do you think is good to drink per day and how much would that cost? If $10 generates a shitload of juice, is this what you normally drink? How much is a shitload? Also does this replace meals? Thanks again.

Between 10-20 dollars a day. Depends on cost and whether you're going organic.

I'll tell you one thing though. 3 juice servings a day is all you need. I feel full like a motherfucker after drinking one serving of juice.

Also:
- I don't have bad breath after waking up anymore.
- Feel amazingly energetic after drinking juice.
- Lowered my blood pressure a shit load.
- Appetite suppressant if you're looking to lose weight/cut cravings.

The recipe I use, straight off of the documentary:

Mean Green

1 Bulk of kale
4 Stalks of celery
1 Cucumber
2 granny smith apples
½ lemon
Ginger root (thumb sized)

Look up the nutrition data of your ingredients and figure out what you're getting and what you're missing here.

Okay guys, I'm going to be honest here.

Am suffering from information overload now. Debating between a Vitamix or a juicer but those things are damn expensive.

Any suggestions on a low cost entry level before dropping $500 for the Vitamix?

Or should i get a cheaper juicer first?

Go for cheap.

That way if you find it boring or too much of a hassle or don't enjoy it, you're not putting $500 worth of machinery in your attic gathering dust.

Buy an affordable Breville for a hundred bucks, give it a go. If you're still in the mood for doing more after a month or two, go beast mode and drop 500 bucks on a better juicer.

There is no evidence to suggest that a juicer is better for vitamin and mineral delivery. In fact it's probably better for your body to have the vitamins and minerals delivered in a more solid form, so there is a delay in absorpotion, as the body has to break down food [like the case with the vitimix], we know that if you drink too much glucose it will cause a "sugar rush". I'm sure if you flood the body with so much vitamins all at once it will have some side effects as well. Or it just wouldn't be efficient because the cells will be over capacity. WHich can be solved by a delayed release of vitamins and minerals.

:xomunch: Agree. I used to have one of those masticating juicers shaped like an anvil a couple years back and while it would take out perhaps 90% of the moisture from fruits and veggies it would still leave all the pulp and the skins intact and I'd have to throw those away. It turns out that most of the vitamin C in an orange for example is in the semi dry white pith between the orange outer skin and the soft inner core. Can the best juicer juice piths? No. So I'd say there's a decent chance that there is a boatload of other goodies lost in the pulp that people throw away.

Also, as someone else mentioned earlier in the thread if you don't chew your food then your digestive tract(which begins in the mouth) will not have started adding digestive enzymes to your juice either, thus increasing the chances of putrification and undesirable fermentation/indigestion later on. That's more likely if you swig a lot of the juice down I suppose. If I get motivated enough then this time round I'm going the blending route. It's cheaper because you can do it with a blender which most people already have lying around. It may make sense to combine blending with juicing for the ultimate power cocktail but juicing alone is for noobs.

Hilarious stuff most definitely.

Few Comments.
1. There is no post from this keyboard stating that juicing is better for vitamins and mineral delivery.

2. Kidding about the cleanup.

3. Vitamix is now carried at William Sonoma.

4. Damn this thread to the abyss...
Today my Vitamix broke.
:angryfire:
Not even an hour ago.

Picked it up from Costco because of Costco's return policy, but will be testing Vitamix on there parts and repair end shortly. Totally pissed right now. Just made some ice cream the other day too, man it was good.

IIRC the redder an apple the better it is for the lungs.
