Can you rank with a single page website?

Hey, guys! Is it possible to rank a website that consists of one single content page(500 - 1000 words or maybe 250 words+video) + about us, privacy,etc ?

Even though the keywords that I'm targeting are many, I know that all the search traffic should be arriving at the same landing page (where I educate them about their problem and possible solution and the capturing the lead).

I remember seeing these kind of sites rank a few years ago, but lately I haven't seen very thin sites rank that well.

I wouldn't want to use adwords for this because the keywords are pretty easy to rank for.

Probably depends on how much competition there is, and how good their sites are. I've seen one-page wonders rank many times but you might not get away with it for keywords that are worth pursuing.
 
A resounding yes! Its not too difficult to find some examples. Ever heard of a site called Google, its unbelievable. Proper easy to find shit out.
 
Absolutely. I see a handful of examples of this every day in competitive local queries (think major city + plumbing, hvac, etc)

The shit I see ranking never fails to blow my mind.

yes and it's easy to rank with. Also if I may add to the strategy. Just ordera 500 words article here in the content section and split it into 2 parts. The first part will be poste today and the second part after 15 days. WP can do this easily. That my own strategy with this type of sites

If I may add sites like Issuu, doctoc and the likes are not flash based but cannot be crawled right cause it's a document uploaded in their site. Links on this can be available only after you download the document. But why does many marketers have high Success with this? Guess google finds out about this? or do you have anything in mind?

It's not single page in the First place. This might help you in the checklist. Have read this is the webmaster forums. Page List that google likes are

Privacy Policy

from personal experience -> "Keyword" extras page < that will be linked in your main page
 
I've done it before, in the last year. Not after the last update though.
I'm sure it can still be done though. Just get more authority from other factors.
 
It depends on the contents of the site but i dont think there will be any problem in the ranking of the page if you have very good and unique contents on your site
 
It depends on which keyword you want to rank and how many backlinks you have. It also depends on the content quality of your page. Single page can be rank good if you have good contents

Wow nicely done,
Position 1 for keyword "how homeopathy works"
no content since Jan 2011
started throwing links since October 15 WITH NO CONTENT
and reached top 1 position by November 24

But goodluck if it can widstand multiple penguin updates. but still is a good method... will study the site later on and it's secrets :)

You can rank a one page site.
I've ranked mine.

If you have just one page, I would make it
as easy and pleasing as possible to siff
through the site.

Meaning: nice design, short paragraphs,
easy to read. You get the drift.
 
Even after all of the Penguin updates there are sites ranking with just 1 page. I normally add an extremely long article when trying to rank 1 page sites. I have since moved to larger sites, but they definitely work well for some keywords.
