Chronic pain gone for 6 weeks.

The best solution for chronic pain is to see a hypnotist / hypnotherapist who specializes in pain issues.

I've found it to be extremely effective for Fibromyalgia and IBS. If you want more information on it or would like me to recommend people, pm me.

Cybalta sounds wonderful ... except for the nasty side effects :)

Awesome news Turbo, glad to hear you're getting some well deserved pain-free status in your life!

Good. I hope that it helps anyone who tries it. Please report back here. (I've heard it does wonders for some people and doesn't work at all for others, but I still think it's worth the try if you're in a lot of pain) It's weird how it completely erases my back pain but I've had a sore throat for the last week (allergies) so who knows what that's about. Doctors don't even know how it works, really.

Just remember the first week can be a bitch with the side effects, just hang on till the next week but if it gets too crazy, call your doctor.

Thanks. It has been about a month for me and is working pretty good overall. Mine is actually more for an adrenal problem because I was on prednisone for about 6 years straight, which killed my adrenal glands. Anyways, it has helped a ton when even taking huge amounts of B12 hasn't touched my energy levels.

Hope it keeps going well for you though! I know how bad it sucks having to plan your day around your pain.

We also use Cymbalta for migraine sufferers. Its a great drug. If you have migraine, other pain, and mood disorder this may be a solid choice.

congrats lauren!
Although now i'm scared cus I'm pretty sure backpain was the only thing holding her back from kicking my ass.

side effects the first week are severe: increased anxiety, feeling of stoned (kind of like that feeling before something like ecstasy kicks in), out of it, lethargy, dry mouth, extreme depression and vivid thoughts/imagery of suicide

OR if that all sounds a little uh.. scary... You should just try a powerful Indica or Indica hybrid for pain relief. Mr Nice, Northern Lights, Hindu Kush, Super Skunk, Shiva Skunk, Shiva Shanti 1, Sensi Skunk or Skunk #1 all come to mind.

Alot of people report have reported that cannabis provides them more effective pain relief than opiates (not just in terms of danger/side-effects, but in actual pain-killing).

A couple things this thread made me think of:

-Another side effect: delayed climax. Probably fine for guys not so fine for gals.

-Weed has the opposite effect on me, it makes me focus on the pain and plus I don't want to have to be stoned all the time just to get relief (weed is for special occasions:338:)

-I've tried chiropractors, and I've come to decide it's kind of a scam. They only pop your spine back into place for the moment (just like I do with my neck at least 15 times a day) and it will slide right back out within the half hour. Besides thats only a tiny factor of the problem. This drug is thought to work on the anti-swelling neurons (there's a name for them but I'm drawing a blank) so with a perpetual injury that never heals, this helps alot. Chiropractors exacerbate the issue when there's swelling.

I've also tried physical therapy and steroids. Both of which helped me alot and got me to about 70% pain free and mobility. It was that last 30% that kept me in annoying pain all day (not so much excruciating) always there, reminding me that any moment my back could completely give.

Everyday something new happens that I remark "wow". Like yesterday I was siting on the floor and my 2 year old was running circles around me and I would reach out and grab him suddenly and cradle him into me and twist real fast from side to side and then throw him back out again. We must have done this for a half hour and no pain at all. This sort of mobility and painlessness was unthinkable 6 weeks ago. Sorry to sound like some sort of after school special but this drug has given me back my playtime with my toddler. Priceless.

That's really interesting, congrats on finding something that works for you!

I've had knee problems for two years, nowhere near as long as you but long enough to know chronic pain isn't fun - especially when it's stopping you do something you love (in my case, sports). I'm trying a course of injections at the moment but if those don't work this might be something to look into, so thanks for posting.

That's great news. Do they have an affiliate program? You could actually set up a blog and the FTC couldn't harass you about it for not being real ;)

Someone in my family has had chronic backpain dictate their life for the last 10 years so it's good to know someone has found a solution.

Do you remember how it exactly started? is there something us young-guns can do to avoid this? it seems like almost everyone will be getting some form of lower backpain sooner or later - and sitting on the puter all day doesnt seem tomake it all better.

Don't rule out weed just yet unless you tried specific strains which have are known for pain relief. Anything you would of tried from your local dealer most likely won't be what your looking for. There's also THC pills which don't have so much of the 'high' but have a lot of warm feeling/body buzz that would help with pain.

It's specific and might be hard to find your 'perfect' strain but I know a few people with chronic pain that went through the medication route and the only thing that ever helped 100% is mother nature. One of them has Fibromialgia and a failing bone structure, the other was in a severe car accident which he never recovered fully (his arm was torn off and it hurt his back).

Just something to consider, there's as much depth to weed as there is to all the medication you tried, but the payoff for finding the right strain will put you in a much better position long term than using what you're using now.

Turbo,

Great to hear you're doing so well on this.

I've forwarded this info to a couple of family members with chronic back issues already, so know that your sharing this is greatly appreciated.

Yes and no. I could write pages and pages on my theories as to why I've been afflicted with this. (20 years gives a person time to think). There are many many factors and different for everyone. I'd say the biggest factor in chronic back pain is either going to be environmental (catastrophic impact or gradual wear and tear) and or genetic.

Genetic can be anything from your body design ( I have one leg slightly longer than the other that throws my whole body slightly off kilter which if you go years and years like that can have an effect on your muscles) to chemical (as mentioned in OP) Environmental can be the way you sit, they way you bend, the bed your sleeping on, the position your sleeping in, how you pick up items, your muscle tone, your body weight or a cataclysmic car accident.

You can learn healthy habits to prevent alot of the environmental factors (just read up on there's alot out there) but if you have an accident or your genetically prone you're still going to suffer. Which is what is nice about this solution. Cause with people like me even when you're trying to do everything "right" it's still extremal frustrating to never heal.
