the real reason why americans can't stand soccer is because goals don't come very often. they need constant scoring to know who the better team was in the match. this is provided in sports like football, basketball, baseball, and to a lesser degree, hockey. in soccer, it's very common to have outcomes of 0-0, 1-0, or 1-1. these types of game results don't satisfy them, when in fact, it is the very thing that makes soccer much more of a sophisticated game. a match with a 1-0 result could either be a very boring match, or an extremely exciting match. the final score doesn't relate to the quality of the game play.

Cristiano- is an arrogant SOB but a good player. I like Wayne Rooney on Man U.
I follow Bayern Munchen. I know YOU DON'T GIVE A FUCK !
By the way whoever is comparing American football to soccer - There is no comparison!!

I used to support Middlesbrought but it was in the era of Ravanelli. Now I Don't really support any teams or care about MU and Ronaldo although most of my friends now are either Liverpool or Man U or Chelsea or <insert top teams from Bundesliga, La Liga here>

But yeah I am glad MU got rid of Ronaldo, I hope they got rid of all their stars too so they can get rid of their glory hunter fans (esp in Asia).

That is why we hate it. It's really not seen as a mans game and its boring as fuck, yet somehow people love NASCAR  (left turns don't take that much talent, give me formula 1 or rally). I'd also rank curling as more interesting that soccer.

I did play football in highschool. Even though I didn't play after that I'd be much more worried to go up to a pro football player and talk game than a pro soccer player.

Sure it really shouldn't be called football it should be called Awesome Ball or maybe Mans Game (MG). Yeah I like that, the National MG League. It's ok we'll let you keep the name.

ok bringing it back to the original post he was bought for 12 mill and then sold for 80 mill that's like oprah on the page margins!!!!

soccer is nothing but a bunch of pussies

and please call it soccer and stop trying to associate it with football, a real sport.

real football is the one played in 200 countries, not the +- rugby style game with fancy armor and recognized as football in 1 or 2 countries

Last time I checked they called it American Football across the pond.

Your football is nothing but a bunch of brain damaged retards with no agility, no stamina, no speed and no accuracy compare to soccer players. Muscle is the only thing they have to show for.

Btw, there are 0.3 billion population in the US that call it soccer while the rest of the world call it football.

Lol football has no skill required? Then why the fuck do i practice from 12 to 5 working on my speed and stamina. Football requires technical skills for defense and offensive plays with 11 players working together. Maybe you can STFU and look at how we work out before making dumbass comments. How bout the fact we fucking work out to fucking get stronger which would explain the fucking muscles

Its also called futbol americano in spanish.

Here's an objective look at rugby vs american football:

^^^^^
Objective???

LOL "the hardest ruckers around, from the LA rugby club." Coming from New Zealand that is a fucking embarrassing representation of rugby.

Then they get a top notch NFL player and line him up against a static crash test dummy? Lol what kind of test is that?

You think there's a new zealand rugby player that hits three times as hard as the guy in the vid? I've watched rugby. You can get a shitload of vids of it and the NFL on youtube. That guy's hit probably could have made one of the "hardest hits" vids because it was controlled.

It's really sort of basic physics isn't it? If you get guys greater than 200lbs(90kg)(and many weigh a lot more than that), who are almost pure muscle, who run the 40 yard dash in less than 4.5 seconds, and you put pads and helmets on them and aim them at each other, they're going to create a crazy amount of force.

And there's plenty of guys in the NFL who hit as hard as or harder than Jammer.

The pads and helmets can make shit more dangerous because these guys just turn themselves into missiles and go head first sometimes.

Jammer created what, 4800 pounds of force on the dummy, the equivalent of a 35mph car crash, and it was standing still. In real life they're often running at each other, like in the vid above.

P.S. The guy with the crazy hair that comes in at the end of that play(number 43) is a pacific islander(Samoan).

Ok we can use basic physics :)

Top nfl players are above 200lbs and can run the 40 yard dash in 4.5 secs. Playing with protection and on average tackling 6 times a game. One tackle and everything stops.

Since top rugby players are above 200lbs and can run the 40 yard dash in 4.5 secs. Playing without protection and tackling 18 times a game. Once a tackler is made play continues.

Sure individual tackles in NFL maybe harder, because of all the breaks etc etc. But rugby is a harder game overall.

I used to be a Giants fan when I younger, but I can't stand watching NFL (or NBA, MLB) anymore because of the commericals. Once you are used to seeing 45 minute commerical-free halves with one 15 minute break, watching American professional sports on TV is painful. Especially NFL and MLB games which last 3 hours.

And which marketing genius invented mandatory TV time-outs? Stopping the game so 2 minutes of commericals can be shown on TV.

And what's the average score of an NFL game? 21-17? That's still only 3-2 tds over 3 hours. Not as huge difference in amount of scoring if you exclude FGs as scorelines would suggest.

Commericalism has ruined American sports.

Never heard of the Scottish one but there is always Gaelic Football which might be what you're on about? Not sure. Very similar to Aussie Rules as well I believe?

Mike

GAA is quite rough, I play abit.
