Dragon's Den UK Series 9 Begins

Peter is definitely the biggest cunt, hes such an arrogant twat. Duncan actually seems pretty cool although he does make himself look like a dick sometimes when he jumps to conclusions too early then wont back down after he has been proven wrong.

The constant recapping is annoying. Sometimes they just throw them in randomly, even if it's only been a few moments or so. (As if viewers would forget what literally just happened?)

I don't know what it's like in the US, but over here, I've not met anyone IRL who know anything in depth about websites/seo. Even "pros".

Thats because SEO's and internet marketers in general are still a tiny minority compared to the population of a country. Its no surprise to me that most people i meet don't know jack shit when it comes to internet marketing, because most people dont do it for a job. All they are interested in is Facebook and buying shit online. Fuck, i know about 3 people in my town who are interested in IM, but it's not a shock because i don't walk around asking every person i meet what they do for a living.

And i don't know what "pro's" you are reffering to, but there are plenty of professional web design / seo / internet marketing companies operating in the UK, and per capita is probably inline with most of the developed countries.

The "internet" is still very much a new thing over here, people still get their internet through ADSL ffs.

UK is so fucking backwards in terms of tech it's unreal.

The internet is very much a new thing over here??. Are you being serious? I've had the internet in Scotland for almost 20 years.

The reason most of it is ADSL based is because of the huge amount of small towns, it's simply not cost effective to 'cable' up many places in the UK. Most cities however offer cable, or nowadays fibre optic connections.

In any case, 20mb connections are not uncommon over a DSL line, which is quite decent in comparison to other countries. The UK actually rates higher in average internet connection speeds than the US, and many other countries. (not surprising considering the huge area the US covers).

The UK might not be as advanced in 'tech' as some other countries, but it's nowhere near as bad as you make out. Maybe you live in a fucking hut in John 'o Groats or something though.... :)

RE: Dragons Den... I cringed when the dragons were quizzing the lady over how she got her .com domain, and if she owned the 'source code' or not. It just goes to show, that the dragons never have to deal with this kind of shit, it's what they have employee's for. It still doesnt make it any easier to listen to when they pretend to know wtf they are talking about though.

Shark Tank is much better for online businesses. Mark Cuban and Robert Herjavec are web/tech guys.

I don't understand why some people are upset over the tech questions asked.

For one, just because she uses the source code does not mean she owns the source code.

The language the site is coded in can mean the difference in the scalability of the site.

I took her getting the .com version of the domain by the chance of her getting it, not because he thought the domain was awesome.

Source code doesn't mean shit with 95% of ecommerce sites.

Cruella told her that she couldn't put the site online unless she owned the source code. That's a load of bollocks, likelihood is it was a magento (or similar) template.

I don't know why, but this reminds me all "The secret" kind of people.
No real inspiration, no real advice but only: "well I followed the secret and I got success"

They were so unfair to that girl. Just because you don't own the sourcecode doesn't mean your internet business is under threat. The company that made the site for her can't just withdraw it and use it themselves once she's paid them money - that would be a breach of contract. It looked like they were just trying to get in the buzzwords to make themselves look knowledgable when in fact they don't know shit. "Do you own the sourcecode".. Well done you know what the word sourcecode means. "What language is it written in"... Everyone watching is going ohh I never realised websites had languages aren't those dragons clever. I felt bad for her because she was on the receiving end of a dragon ego trip.

What's wrong with Theo?

Personally I think either Peter or Duncan is the biggest cunt, probably Peter. Don't get why no one else thinks Peter's a cunt.

He comes up with the same line every week about spending his childrens inheritance, and then deliberately tries to break prototypes to say they are dangerous.

Oh and he wont invest without that haggard faced bitch meaden.
