Duck Dynasty Publicity Stunt?

Here is what irritates me about the situation, if LGBT and NAACP ignored his comments it would of been just one old guy making odd comments, instead they gave him a megaphone and magnified his comments. If their so offensive why draw more attention to them.

Because it gets them almost as much attention as the 'issue' itself. They need attention for funding, support, etc.

Which leads me to my second point. Why do minority groups feel they have the right to push their views and believes on others? Not only when it comes to anti-gay comments but also to Christmas and other holidays, it seems like were bending to confirm to others all the time. If you don't believe in Christmas, ignore it.

saywhutnow? He made comments people didn't like, on a public forum. The "minority groups" returned with comments about how they didn't like his comments. They didn't actually push their views until he pushed his. Also, see my first reply.

The last thing that frustrates me is we (collectively as the united states) are getting upset by stupid and petty stuff. We get mad about Phil Robertson anti-gay comments but no one says a peep about how abysmal our primary education system is? That people can't get access to mental health care when they should or that children are growing up in single parent households. There are many issues that are much worse that then one man's comments.

Sure there are people that bitch about education, taxes, shitty govt, and all sorts of real issues. Just that this is way more entertaining to our collective short attention spans than paying attention to things that take time and effort to try and change.

Question - Why are they targeting A&E and not GQ? GQ did the interview and ran the comments?

GQ just "reporting" on what was said. A&E actually pays Phil.

anyone remember how this ended?

Something tells me no one will give a fuck in about a week or so, yet all the raving fans who are anti-gay will be at their strongest in support.

He had every right to say it and A&E had every right to give him the boot. And people have every right to continue watching or not and the advertisers have every right to pull out or not.

What's ironic though is in reaction to what A&E sees as intolerance, A&E is being intolerant.

Why dont any of those news story's spell out LGBT?

lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender
Perhaps this outrage wouldn't be so outrageous if people knew what that stood for?
