Hey guys,

Been a heavy smoker for years. Really want to quit.

Always kind of figured e-cigs where BS. Saw one today and decided to buy it and try them out.

Bought one from the gas station called "21st Century Smoker"... And surprisingly I love the thing.

It's only been like 6 hours but I've only smoked one real cigarette during that time, and the e-cig seems to be doing it for me pretty well.

I'm about a 2 pack a day smoker, so even just cutting down would be huge for me.

Anyone use 'em? Like 'em? Anyone have success using them as a smoking cessation tool?

Was able to go off cigs for about 6 months by using the ScrewDriver ecig.

But while using the ecig I kept upping my nicotine to satisfy cravings, and by the end of the 6 months I was vaping 3x the nicotine I was smoking from regular cigs before quitting.

I still use it, mainly when working at my computer. But I wasn't able to permanently quit cigs with it (due to my own lack of will power + ecig just not quite the same as a real cig)

edit: I used to smoke about 1.5 to 2 packs per day, and now I'm at an even 1 pack/day using the ecig a few times per day.

Been using one for a little more than a year. The gas station brands normally aren't the "cats meyow" so to say, and they are quite a bit more expensive than buying your own gear.

Head over to E-Cigarette Forum they have an excellent noobie section.

If your looking for gear at a good price I order most of my gear from Shawn at LiteCig.

I used a Joye 510 for about half a year, got tired of lugging around an extra battery and charger and upgraded to the Joye EGO with 510 Expert attys. There is, no reason IMHO, that someone can't quite smoking at least regular cigarettes with a good unit.

I quit cigs cause of them. I don't smoke shit now only Hookah every other month or something. Will power + ecigs is the best comb
Nice man! That's inspiring. Good to know.

@Rage9 thanks for the links. Checking them out now.

Dammit, if I wasn't such a cynical/skeptical marketer I would have tried these when they first came out. Oh well.

I get the feeling this will be a big help with quitting. I've tried EVERYTHING and I realize this isn't exactly a healthy alternative, but it helps a helluva lot more than gum or patches.

Even if I get hooked on them I think I'll be better off without the tar, etc from cigarette smoke.

P.S. While we're on the subject, and this is actually a product I can get behind, any recommendations for a good affiliate program?

how much were the ecigs from the gas station

It was around $40 for the starter kit.

Came with 2 of the cigs, a wall charger, USB charger and 6 cartridges.

If you are truly tired of feeling like shit and you WANT to want to quit, then it could work for you.

Yeah, I totally get that.

I've tried cold turkey. Tried about everything. Read "The Easy Way To Quit Smoking" and while it's a good read, it didn't help me a ton.

I quit once for about 6 months when I joined the military. The first day I was allowed to smoke again I bought a pack, smart move.

I quit about a year ago with the gum. Lasted about 2 months. And then I did the whole "I can just have one" thing while drinking and was back in full force the next morning.

This thing actually really helps. I've been reading up on them today and a lot of people seem to have found success with them.

I HATE smoking. I'm 28 and wake up every morning with a death hack that sounds like a dying old man...

I get out of breath while having sex. Fuck smoking. I really do hate it. I really do want to quit. I think this is what I need, this and some will power.

Cessation that actually "does it" for me and also takes care of the whole hand/oral part of the addiction.

I bought the Green Smoke e-cig in July last year and I haven't smoked one real cigarette since August. I think what really helped me is that I absolutely had it in my mind that I was going to quit. I was sick of my habit and disgusted with myself, especially because I take my health and fitness so seriously, yet I was smoking fucking cigarettes.

I wasn't a heavy smoker though. I would only smoke on the weekends when I would drink with friends. Now whenever I go out I take the e-cig with me. I feel so much better now. I had to buy an extra battery though, because one wasn't enough for a night of drinking.

thx...they had some gypsies at the mall selling these during xmas season for 140..and i dont even think it came wit all the shit you mentioned

I got the blu starter kit a while back, and it's wasn't nearly as satisfying as I had hoped, but they did help me get down to just a few cigarettes a day. meh.

I have a friend who swears by them. He buys all the shit in bulk, $1000 at a time from China as he's terrified that they will start banning imports into Australia - the liquid nicotine is technically illegal to sell over here, but they don't seize your shipment just yet. Anyway, he now hates cigarettes and can't stand to be around anyone who is 'smoking'. He considers himself a non-smoker, even though he's puffing away on his ecig all day.

He has 'vaped' (as he calls it) inside while eating, on planes, in government buidings, etc. and no one has ever stopped him as it doesn't smell the same as smoke and disperses very quickly.

I help people to quit smoking... and they come in all the time saying they tried ecigs (and the patch, gum, chantix, willpower, etc) and it didn't work. Smoking is a habit, it's not about the nicotine for more than a few days.

PM me your address and I'll send ya one of ours free of charge. Gas station brands = teh suck (even though we're in gas stations)

I tried it and actually liked it at first, but the hits just weren't strong enough and was going through a ton of cartridges. But then again, I did get the 'cheap' gas station version (was still $60)

Would be willing to try a better brand probably though. They do help, even if they aren't perfect.

The man speaketh sense.

I gave up around a year ago and e-cigs helped me not. I gave up with the help of Allen Carr's book. His book isn't quite the magic bullet it makes itself out to be, willpower is required, but I gave up completely at the point it says in the book and haven't touched the fags since. (I smoked for over 16 years, only 10 or so per day, so maybe it is the magic bullet!)
