The forum's dead. People have already admitted they don't login for months at a time due to the password reset feature. You think they're about to start flipping out their credit cards? They can't even be bothered to reset their password in order to post, so I doubt they're going to fire off funds to Jon.
I'll pay just for shits & giggles, but I wouldn't expect an influx of creative and innovative minds to begin showing up at the door once it's closed off and a paid only forum.

You should go take your words and create your own forum. Others have done so.. why don't you? Take a risk. You're incredibly critical on things you have no experience or history of anything on. What you are doing is seeing things right in front of you, and without ever giving it a shot of any sort, if it's not perfect or catered to your precise liking and values (if any) then it's immediately judged openly, picked apart, and destroyed. Because you value your own selfish interests above anyone else's. You believe, currently, that things are made to benefit you, if you're paying for it in some sort of way. You sir, are a pig. You will take things and not give back. If it's money, you'll throw it back at someone or something as a gesture of "fine, here! take it! I don't care! I will only pretend to like this!" -- I doubt very much you know what it's like to create something real and take pride in it, with real purpose and conviction.

I don't care what you want to see or what you think because you don't have any respect for me or WF or anyone, even if you say so in a post, it's not real with you. You know it too. Once someone reaches a level of accomplishment and earn a ton of cash, it becomes arbitrary. It no longer is the goal. I am not just saying this for fun. I speak from experience. I used to looooove money in that way, and it took YEARS to figure it out.
