Want to see how absolutely empty, vapid, hypocritical, and sheep-like these "OH POOR #MIKEBROWN!" hashtag clones are?

Want to REALLY see what this country thinks about black people?

Check this story out:

Laylah Petersen, 5, Shot While Sitting On Grandpa's Lap

Laylah Petersen, 5, Shot While Sitting On Grandpa's Lap
Posted: 11/07/2014 4:58 pm EST

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A 5-year-old girl was fatally shot while sitting on her grandfather's lap when two people approached her Milwaukee home and opened fire, according to police, who sought help Friday in finding the suspects.

Laylah Petersen was shot in the head when one of a dozen bullets that hit the home came through a wall about 6 p.m. Thursday. Laylah, who was sitting on a couch with her grandfather, died at a hospital.

The catch? Little 5-year-old Laylah lived in a predominately black neighborhood. Her family was one of the only non-black families in that area.

Here's the Scary Part:

How many innocent children are killed by drive-by shootings every year? I can't find exact numbers, but it's safe to say numerous.

How many innocent black children are accidentally killed in gang-related crossfire?

How many riots do see going on in support for "Ending the Violence" in the black community?

How many protests against "Black-on-White" crime do we see gain traction? Do they even exist?

Why do people only care about dead black people when they die at the hands of white people?

The subtext being:
"It's okay to kill black people as long as long as you're also black."

But what about poor Laylah's case? Where's her #Justice? She wasn't even black!

Why don't we hold black people to the same standards as white people?

Is it because we think they're inferior? Is it because we believe they're so incapable of ethical behavior, we should expect them to kill innocent children?

Please. Let's stop the racism now.

Let's start holding the black community ACCOUNTABLE for their actions.

After all, if we want equality, we need to start treating people equally. That means holding blacks to the same standards we'd hold whites.

Thank you.

P.S. Please share the above image on the most popular image-sharing sites. We can start a movement. We can start a revolution. We can end racism. We can end the myth of black inferiority. We can promote true equality.

It's sometimes referred to as the "soft bigotry of low expectations", and it's at the very root of the problem with much of the liberal thought and policies in this country. If you don't expect somebody to behave civilized and make excuses for it, then what you're really saying is they are incapable of behaving civilized.

You see it in schools too, when it comes to achievement gaps. You don't expect certain people to perform well and you make excuses for it, what you're really saying is you think they are incapable of performing at a certain level.

You see it everywhere really. Crime, education, economics - I'm not saying all liberals are racist, but a lot of them are and they don't even realize it. They think it's just empathy, and that's not to say you shouldn't have empathy for individuals that come from certain circumstances, but to apply your low expectations to an entire group of people based on skin color is the very definition of racism.

Jim Jefferies sums this up quite well. :)

A good read on the topic from a former talk show host, Neal Boortz.

MY THOUGHTS ON FERGUSON | Nealz Nuze | www.wsbradio.com

And then there were the signs that read “Black lives matter.” These signs are particularly irritating. Yes, of course black lives matter. Buy why do they seem to matter to some people, principally blacks, only when those lives are taken by a white police officer?
Here’s a question … how many blacks have been killed by other blacks since Officer Wilson shot and killed Michael Brown. One estimate I’ve read says 2,100. Thousands of young blacks are murdered every year. The numbers in recent years range from almost 6,000 to 9,000. The average is around 7,900. One statistic that is borne out is that 93% of these murders of blacks are committed by other blacks. This is to the tune of over 20 each and every day. Michael Brown attacked Officer Wilson on August 9th. That’s 108 days between the incident and the report on the grand jury’s findings. Multiply by the average of 20+ a day and you have 2,160 during that period. If you want a more alarming statistic, try this one. The number of days elapsed since the killing of Trayvon Martin and the report from the Ferguson grand jury? That would be 1003 days. That means 20,000 killed and over 18,000 of them killed by other blacks.
During this entire time frame the ONLY time I saw a “black lives matter” sign was in connection with a protest over Michael Brown’s death. Didn’t the other 20,000 black lives matter as well? Where were the signs?

Great points, but the solution for people/humans like us is more frame-oriented. While we're here building a gripe thread about how W entity empowers Y, but Y entity is responsible for Z, we're wasting time & results.

I'd imagine (almost) anyone on WF has a mindset and at least rudimentary skills/talent to create something valuable. Next step, w/ possibly an alphabet-soup agency taking all their stuff & having to rebuild, is to build something useful and then get all philanthropic & such. It's a long race.

On the other hand, you have a bunch of people sitting in the stands, watching everyone compete. Cheering, booing, tweeting, or pissing on people under the bleachers.

So you're coming off the last turn & hear the crowd cat-calling. Do you run up into the stands to fight w/ them? Even if you win the argument, you lose the race.

Some people say "yeah, but if we don't stop __ or ___ then we'll lose ___". Scarcity-mindset.

Money always wins in societal problems, whether you want to use it for good or bad. Frame always wins in the same sphere, whether you want to use it for good or bad. You might see a person with money or frame wade into the fray for idealistic/opportunistic results, but you rarely see the opposite.

that's just stupid logic speaking again. If the system is setup so it could be run like that then yeah sure why not. But whenever you have an element of subjectivity like " is he or she a good fit for this co-op/job/school/role"? then the that quote kind of fails. You cant standardize a lot of issues so sometimes some groups naturally get left out. East Asians and Asians in general do really well in academics and science yet only a fraction of a % of people in E and C level employment are held by said group. Shit even white people would become a minority real fast in some industries without randomizing requirements to get in to even out the herd.

I don't really understand what you're trying to communicate?

This is probably a broad generalization, but black people seem to perpetuate their own lack of prosperity and ignorance. Ferguson is a perfect example. Instead of reacting rationally to grand jury decision, they riot, destroy their own town and take every opportunity to behave like thugs & criminals. They could have, just as easily, formed a peaceful protest in front of the courthouse or police department, but they use this as an excuse to steal and destroy. In reality it has nothing to do with the outcome of the grand jury decision.

I'd take a guess that most of the people you see in the news feeds breaking windows, robbing liquor stores etc., have absolutely no real understanding of the evidence or how the grand jury came to the decision not to prosecute. They're just reacting improperly to what they perceive to be an injustice, which in reality just isn't the case. It's a gang mentality. They jump on the bandwagon of rioting because everyone else around them is saying "this is bullshit, let's burn some buildings down".

Black people who respect the law and are productive members of society should be embarrassed and ashamed of how the people in Ferguson are reacting to this. It doesn't help that you have ambulance chaser racists like the Al Sharpton's and Jesse Jacksons of the world exploiting the situation to create even more racial tension and hatred.

With the Rodney King riots of years ago, I can somewhat understand how black people felt after those police officers were acquitted. They threw ol' Rodney a beating he wouldn't soon forget, which was a crime. I don't condone it to the extent that they should be burning down half of L.A., but there was some injustice there that warranted a reaction.

The situation in Ferguson will come and go. It will be talked about for years to come. Chances are, nobody will learn a damn thing from it. Racisim in America will continue. It was set in motion 100+ years ago and until those who feel they're oppressed can find a way leave the past in the past and rise above it, nothing will ever change.

What i'm trying to communicate is something that probably isnt appropriate for discussion on STS and I think that itself says a lot about the problem since it's complicated. We have this idea that because the current generation of minorities are free of the chains that their ancestors wore around their necks - physically and figuratively due to slavery that somehow they should be on par with the rest of country's population which is predominately European.

What needs to be understood that although it's true that no living black has or at least a large portion of it hasn't endured slavery or faced prejudices, it's not right to dismiss the systematic disadvantages faced by them since the abolishment of slavery either. Don't forget that even after the civil rights movement ( which hasn't even matured to a century yet- shit not even close) many states still had remnants or shadows of Crow's law in their judicial process. The concept of a farmer's son is a farmer has a larger meaning that just growing corn. There's a reason why the US government reflects plutocracy and i'm not even talking just universities of a certain caliber - shit even certain frats from within these institution carry their own legacy into prominent roles within government and the rest of the "high society" as we're told to address it by.

Point i'm making is that to imply that everyone should play by the same rules indirectly favors those that never were disadvantaged to being with. It's a bullshit ploy to feel good about oneself. To me it's like donating a penny a day to feel altruistic. It's bullshit.

Now what I meant by by previous comment is wrapped around the same concept. We now have a decent 2- 2.5ish generations of American from vary nations of Asia yet see their influence in the fortune 500 companies as executive employees to be minuscule so long as the company itself isnt American. A large percentage of employees in tech companies come from asian backgrounds yet they hit the glass ceiling pretty fast. Dont even start on government, the republican part didnt give two shits about minorities until they realized that they'll never win without a few indians , a black guy and a woman as fronts of the new "progress" to go against the Obama effect that the democrats have been riding on for the past two elections.

TLDR: It takes a while for that broken leg to heal before you can learn to drive so you can catch up to the shadow of an airplane ( if you can see it at all).

Good luck bros.

Why do people only care about dead black people when they die at the hands of white people?

White on black deaths get more "care" than with black on black, but the majority do not receive as much as with Mike Brown.

Michael Dunn guilty of first-degree murder for killing Jordan Davis | News - Home

How many minutes of national cable news coverage did these receive? Did Obama issue statements? How many tweets about them?

michael-dunn-jordan-davis.jpg

Davis being part of the Air Force ROTC adds an extra ingredient to the story, but it still didn't catch on like with Mike Brown. Some main differences with Davis were an arrest being made, and the suspect not being a cop.

If racism ends now, we would still see police, teachers, clergy, and politicians held to different standards and be more likely to receive attention.

George Zimmerman was none of those, but most people would not have known about him had he quickly been charged. Even after the Trayvon legal team brought in a publicist, it still took time for the story to get noticed.

"Now Crump and Jackson needed a media strategy. On March 5, Jackson brought in Ryan Julison, a publicist who had worked with her on a number of high-profile cases. After speaking with Tracy Martin, Julison said he also took the job for free and went to work pitching the story to national media.

Crump knew from his experience on the boot-camp case that publicity could force officials to act...

There was only one problem. At first, the media weren't interested. Julison pitched the story to a long list of media contacts.

Bill Cosby

“It’s a person who can’t be trusted to carry out the laws. It’s a person who will, in their mental illness, react in an unstable manner which gets everybody into trouble,” Cosby said near the end of a half-hour telephone interview Sept. 4.

“That mental illness can cause an awful lot of anger to surface unnecessarily, and I think that color is not what we’re talking about,” he continued. “We have to vote and make sure that the person we’re voting for is going to carry out that which a public servant is supposed to do."

EXCLUSIVE: Bill Cosby weighs in on Ferguson before Amarillo show

They don't really give the full context of his comments, but it would appear that he is saying that it is more important for public servants to act properly than it is for everyone else.

Since we're discussing racism and racial inequality up in urr, how about a little reverse racism. At my High School, which was extremely ethnically diverse we had the African American club, the Latino American club, the Asian American Club, maybe even the Samoan American club. I guarantee if a student had gone to the front office and asked to start the Caucasian club, that shit would have been turned down before it reached the principal's desk. I remember one of my classes discussing this my Senior year. The teacher didn't want to even touch the subject and it ended up being a debate between the African American members of the class and just about everyone else in class.

When I started my master's program at San Diego State (not a black guy despite avatar) there was a club or group for every conceivable minority under the sun. Pacific Islander Union, Transgender Union, Feminist Fans of Folk Singer Jewel Union, Blind Cripple Dickless union, etc. Anything remotely representing a caucasian or male group?

Even the word "caucasian" is underlined as a misspelling. Type it and you'll see.

(p.s. nothing meant by a black guy - Idi Amin - in the vid, it was simply a good meme for the post)
