There's no way they're only 4%. Only 4% of the population, and they have enough political clout to get their own legal system in Britain?
An excellent film. And if you like that then Bend it Like Beckham is a nice way to lazily spend 90minutes (Sikh rather than muslim)
British courts recognize sharia courts as legitimate law dispensers for Muslims. They have their own legal system. Amazing they accomplished that with only 4% of the population, if that's true.
Not strictly true, the only laws Muslims can preside over using Sharia Law in the UK are those of a civil matter, anything else is dealt with via the English legal system.
However I remember watching something earlier in the year where there is evidence that they also precide over more serious matters but this is without the knowledge of the Police, authorities ect
Of course they do. English laws means nothing to many muslims. The only law they follow is gods law. Which basically means that they do whatever they want to do.
Sure, but if you look at Sweden which has areas of 40-60% Muslims known as "no-go" areas, firefighters and ambulances won't enter those areas without police escorts. Clearly the people residing in those areas are handling ALL legal matters in-house.

Still pretty amazing that they've carved out their own legal system in someone else's nation, and this was accomplished by only 4% of the population. Are we sure those are the correct numbers? Because if so, that's crazy influence in relation to their small proportional numbers.

More like 90%. However, it's not really just a muslim problem. There are just as many gypsies, christian kurds/syriacs/ethiopians/other blacks and one or two yazidi kurds in these areas. The problem is that they are uneducated, sometimes illiterate, savages who come from poor, war ravaged, uncivilized third world countries where they have been brought up in a slum which has resulted in a tribalistic and primitive mindset.
