FBI UFO files

^LOL, I miss that show. Heck, I miss a lot of TV from the 80s.

Anyway, If I were Cliffy then I wouldn't be in here doubting UFOs, would I?

I'm more the Frasier, thank you very much.

:1orglaugh: Love the Pic!

I haven't read many of them because it's so hard to make out these 60-year-old scanned in files, but from what I can see some agent reported on the existence of 3 UFOs (Incantation quoted that part above) and it was too short and detail-less to be taken seriously. Like an agent was playing a joke on his boss that day, but only lightly.

Could've been planted misinformation for one of a thousand different reasons, too.

It's as fishy as a truckload of fish... But for those searching for answers on their "abduction" it will be the holy grail no doubt and we haven't heard the beginning of this yet.

Yeah, Cheers was totally the shit. I didn't know you were doubting, so that's why I misjudged the intent of your post. :2drinkspit:

I looked into this a bit further, and apparently, this has been on the fbi website since 1998, they just added this vault to make it easier to access. Apparently there are already books about this.

Really? You were able to interpret the words "There's a whole lotta fail on this thread" as Pro-UFO? The connection escapes me.

Or have I gotten so fruitcakey that everyone automatically skips the meat of my posts and assumes automatically I mean the most wacko possible thing?

(I thought only Teguh had that power!)

That document they released is dated March 1950.

The Roswell incident was in July 1947.

I would think by 1950 anyone the fbi wanted to know about this already did.

So why would they write this memo almost 3 years later?

I spent a few hours last night reading a bunch of stuff in the vault. I got the impression that a lot of the UFO information was not shared between government agencies. There's some shit in there about J. Edgar Hoover (Director of the FBI) getting the run-around when requesting UFO information.

That doesn't really surprise me. While in the Army I had a top secret clearance however pretty much everything on that level is on a "need to know" basis so you never get access to anything outside your department.

All the documents are pretty tame and they'll never release the "good stuff".

Tell us all the secrets please. Also wondering if your house is wiretapped and if you have ever been visited by men in black or if you get paranoid about these things?

Do some research before jumping in on the bandwaggon of ridiculing people with lame tinfoil hat or similar comments. It's easy to go with the herd and repeating the same sarcasm that's being spread by mass media.

^So did they say anything that could be supported by other (already existing) evidence?

Not really. There's a document in there where they flat out say they've never found evidence of any UFO's. And there's others where they say the US Air Force or FBI is no longer going to investigate UFO claims because there's nothing more to learn and with budget cuts it is too expensive.

Read the COMETA Report from the French gov. Rest of the world accepts it as legit. Most folks here have no clue. Its interesting stuff.

only thing is....the FBI had nothing to do with this it was the air force so who cares what the FBI says regarding an investigation done by the air force? government agencies didnt and still dont share information like this so the FBI would have no clue as to what was going on

Had another look around on the site and there isn't really anything of interest on there.

Would really love to know what is going on inside Area 51. Those that lurk around that border protected by the guards and sensors will quickly get lumped with a nice fine and maybe a a follow up visit from FBI agents and of course the guards are authorised to use deadly force if need be. So they certainly don't want you going anywhere near the place that according to maps doesn't even exist.
