Yeah, great point mate. I'm just in the process of getting the site redesigned to try and boost front end conversions. The initial optin rate is the only really weak part in the sales funnel (1.5% double optin) so I want to get that handled before I start scaling. Once I get that up to 3% or even 4%, I can start throwing money at adwords and seeing big back end returns.
Once that's up and running, I can put an affiliate program together as well and it should pay big dividends for everyone.
If I can get the initial double optins up to 5%, maintain the backend conversions, and get my traffic up to pre-penguin levels, I can be doing 6 figures a month.
Fuck dude, that's incredible... Hope to be joining you soon. If everything goes to schedule, it should be in about 18 months.
Most of it's going in savings at the moment. I've cut my living expenses down to less than $1000 / month so apart from that, it's all in high interest accounts.
My next big purchase is a house so every dollar helps.
I was in the same boat when I first started. My thinking was that I needed a decent amount of traffic to be able to thoroughly test conversion rates. My goal was to hit 1000 visitors / day and then switch to conversions because 1000 was enough to test. I got a little bit carried away and hit 2500 but I'm really seeing that conversions is where it's all at.
