Hey, here's an idea: let's spend money on improving the lives of Americans and fixing the mess that is America instead of going and trying to occupy countries that want nothing to do with us and will offer no financial benefit in the short, or long term.
Heres an even better idea america: stop supporting other countries and support your own people, before we turn into haiti

Every country should help out with something when a major disaster hits. Any country can be hit. When Katrina happened plenty of money was donated by other countries (including countries 'who couldn't afford it'):

Oh and about WW2, if it wasn't for certain US families funding hitter, there would have been no WW2. Where do you think the money came from to make Germany go from a small fucked up back water country (which is what it was after WW1) into a military super power in under 20 years?

Nobody has to do shit. People were dirt-poor in Haiti before the earthquake, people were dying before the earthquake, and people will continue to die after it. All the quake did was speed up the rate of fatalities. So suddenly when the rate of deaths reaches a certain point, the US steps in? What kind of a standard is that?
People will forget about this in a couple years, just like they forget about most countries where conditions like Haiti's are the norm, Africa etc.. Nobody addresses the root problem of why these countries are like this - no rule of law, no democracy, incredible corruption, thievery, and lack of honorable leaders. And until that changes, we'll always have dirt-poor nations begging for a handout. And yet according to Danny Glover, France, and Hugo Chavez, we're not supposed to be in a position of 'dominance' with regards to Haiti? We're supposed to meekly hand over our money and not say "Hey, maybe your system of governance is FUCKED UP"? God forbid we actually introduce some semblance of order and organization to that hellhole.

We should pull out of Haiti, Iraq, Afghanistan, and wherever else the fuck we're spending money at. We should have just sent some planes full of food and supplies, let Americans text $10 here and there and let the other UN countries do their part. I'm all for charity and helping other people (I've already given to Haiti relief) but the government doesn't have any money to give, we're printing the money as we go, pushing us further into debt.
What I think is bullshit is this whole 1 run way thing. I don't know how many old war movies and stories I have seen where the US plopped down on some island and built a runway in a day. Where the fuck are all the old portable ww2 run ways? Hell just make a dirt one!

The US in Haiti proves we actually DO humanitarian work. Unfortunately we are not as good as the Israelis. They managed to get a field hospital with specialty units up and running within 48 hours while we were still figuring out which choppers to send.
Of course - in all fairness - they have had a LOT more experience dealing with trauma.

As for the international community 'uniting', Venezuela sent ONE plane. China sent ONE million. Saudi Arabia sent NOTHING.
The US? Pledged 500 million, and that's not even counting the private charities. There is no international community. There's retards like you that think it sounds nice, so you throw it around whilst looking like a fool.
What you don't understand, as usual, is that it is about the death rate. That's what natural disasters cause - elevated death rates. My point is this - if we didn't give a shit about Haitians dying before, why do we give a fuck now? Why does anybody? Because they're dying faster?
Clinton wasted 3 BILLION dollars on Haiti - a nation of 9 million people. 3 fucking billion dollars on a tiny nation and they're still fucked? OBVIOUSLY the problem lies in their system of governance - throw everybody out, hold elections, build up their infrastructure, set up their government, set up their economy, and build something sustainable. I don't even WANT to do that, but that's the only way to fix that shithole.

Dude, it has to do with a lot more than the death rate. It's about humanity and helping others in need. Haiti was a shit hole before the earthquake but 100k+ people were still alive.
Maybe you didn't give a shit about them before, but millions of people have and will continue to serve and aide third world countries... natural disasters or not.
