France accuses US of occupying Haiti

That 10 trillion dollars in debts is what keeps feeding that economical power. Money is made by those debts. Who do you think gives that 10 trillion dollars, air?

If you actually want US to be any economical authority in the world, and actually be able to support the mess it has you need to actually promote more debt. Debt = Money. No-debt = shit

This is quite possibly the dumbest shit I've ever seen written. We're about to lose our triple A status because of our debt. And 10 trillion is the tip of the iceberg - I didn't even touch on the unfunded liabilities from Medicare/Social Security which is closer to 100 trillion.

The assertion that to remain an economic authority, we should 'promote more debt' is absolutely retarded. China's about to bail on our asses, and if they do, we're bankrupt. The last thing they want is for us to go deeper into debt. And the only thing that's kept us afloat is the fact that nations need dollars to buy oil. In short, you're a total moron.

Nice one hellblazer, Godwin's law in how many posts?

Weren't you saying that non-Americans shouldn't express their opinions on US politics? So why the fuck are you expressing yours on matters not in your country? Surely you don't think that what happens in other countries might actually affect you?

As for the OP, I have to admit the troop build up appears disturbing but it's a bit early to suggest occupation. If the US starts trying to form a government there or tries to administer the country as opposed to providing relief and aid then I'd start to get concerned.

Sounds pretty straightforward, prioritise food and aid flights over troops.

If the US wasn't doing that then fair play to the guy for calling it out, evidently he had a reason for saying 'colonisation' as he'd been having arguments with US commanders.

This might be worth 2 seconds of my time if there a) was anything regarding foreign policy that France had street cred to listen to and b) anything in Haiti worth occupying it for.

The US in Haiti proves we actually DO humanitarian work. Unfortunately we are not as good as the Israelis. They managed to get a field hospital with specialty units up and running within 48 hours while we were still figuring out which choppers to send.

Yeah, but they just got in early to practice making human matzah balls. Running low on Palestinian children, I think.

Anyway, as a proud Neo-Colonialist I say, invade away, our Glorious Merkin Overlords!

What I think is bullshit is this whole 1 run way thing. I don't know how many old war movies and stories I have seen where the US plopped down on some island and built a runway in a day. Where the fuck are all the old portable ww2 run ways? Hell just make a dirt one!

Our military (US) did substantially increase the capacity of the airport in about a week.

Look, when you are in the hot seat making these life or death calls, and plus you have a lot of political pressure coming from everywhere, you will probably not be the most popular guy in town.

Just think about how big this is. If a million people are homeless and need food, that is 3 million meals a day to make everybody happy. That is just not going to happen in days. The WFP says they only have 16 million meals in the pipeline.

Surprise - the US did not cause this earthquake to the best of my knowledge, though I admit I do not have illuminati membership. People are hungry, sick, injured, etc. Aid is not getting there fast enough.

Heck, I was in the Houston area during Hurricane Ike - and while Texas responded very well and most people had prepared with water and canned food - we couldn't even get ice for a week (and it was hot!). I notice all you people like to bring up Katrina, but not Ike.

I am really sorry about all of this, and I did donate. But France needs to shut up and get 'er done.

lolol, thats why i love wickedfire. we're all just a bunch of idiots trying to be internet politicians <3

LoL love how you idiots are getting so worked up.

None of your stupid messages will have any effect on anything.

Go get back to work and promote more scams which is making main street America more and more broke and in debt and our pockets fatter.

I laughed every time I saw somebody complaining about not having ice during the hurricane Katrina coverage. People lived in those areas and even hotter parts of the world for thousands of years with no ice. Ice is not a requirement to survive.

It isn't? How can we enjoy our sweet tea in the afternoon and Long Island Ice Tea in the evening? It was a terrible inconvenience.

But you miss the point. The reaaon it wasn't worse is that we were prepared with our "hurricane" boxes. We had beans, water, and several different types of batteries to power our many devices. Candles? meh...

Obvously, in this age, the weather service can warn us about hurricanes, and not earthquakes. But even if we weren't warned, most of us would have enough junk stored in the pantry to survive for a week or two. This was not the case in other places.

The funny thing is, here we are a week later, and maybe a small amount of violence here and there. After Katrina, NewOrleans was in an uproar after 4 days. They were crying and fighting like bitches down there.

I say bring the Haitians here to NewOrleans and give them the houses that no one is occupying, and then drop them crying bitches from NewOrleans off in Haiti to give them something to really complain about, and make them work for their years of mooching off of society.

Not sure what a 'neo coon' is - that something you picked up from the loons at Daily Kos?

As for the international community 'uniting', Venezuela sent ONE plane. China sent ONE million. Saudi Arabia sent NOTHING.

The US? Pledged 500 million, and that's not even counting the private charities. There is no international community. There's retards like you that think it sounds nice, so you throw it around whilst looking like a fool.

What you don't understand, as usual, is that it is about the death rate. That's what natural disasters cause - elevated death rates. My point is this - if we didn't give a shit about Haitians dying before, why do we give a fuck now? Why does anybody? Because they're dying faster?

Clinton wasted 3 BILLION dollars on Haiti - a nation of 9 million people. 3 fucking billion dollars on a tiny nation and they're still fucked? OBVIOUSLY the problem lies in their system of governance - throw everybody out, hold elections, build up their infrastructure, set up their government, set up their economy, and build something sustainable. I don't even WANT to do that, but that's the only way to fix that shithole.

If we're not going to do that, there's no point in doing anything. They'll be right back at square one in 4-5 years. But loons like you are too 'stupid' to see that.

If you weren't such a hick retard, you would have read my post in full. I said I agree the US gives too much.

And I explained it is about a natural disaster. If people have low life expectancy because of normal conditions that is one thing. However, not everyone in haiti is ultra poor. There are many who have managed to pick themselves up by the boot straps.

When a natural disaster hits, everyone is fucked, including people like you and me who work hard for a living. And those people, like us, if they get a little help... in a situation where there is no water, food, or medicine... and if they can only get it... it will allow them to get back on their feet. That is why everyone donated to katrina, and again, if you weren't such a hick idiot retard you would realize that there were other donations apart from the ones you mentioned.

Furthermore I didn't say we have to give $500 M. I agree it is too much. But to suggest that a disaster where 100,000-200,000 people die, should be ignored? It could be double casualties without help. Even triple. WTF man.

And about in 4-5 years they get back to where they are... great! That is what we want. To allow them a fighting chance. They may fail, but that is what freedom is about, getting a chance. So yes people in haiti will be dying in 4-5 years of other reasons... but they will have a chance. The young people there will get a chance to work hard and live a good life... many do now... but they can't without everyone throwing a blanket, a bottle of water, or a can of food. It doesn't have to be much, whatever each can afford, but every little bit will count to giving people a chance.

And last time I checked, you can't compare the help needed for a disaster like Katrina where a 4,081 people died, to the disaster that just happened. I'm sure if 100,000 Americans died, the world would have given a lot more.
