Friend was raided by the DEA

Seriously, I'd pick something else.

The only thing you can pick is hiring a criminal defense lawyer.

Also methylone really fucks people up. It's not a harmless substance. You can argue that it's far more dangerous than cocaine and methamphetamine.

That stupid kid ruined other people's lives in addition to his own.

the dea isnt like... a competitor for a tough serp, they're not gonna back down just cos he mentioned their name in some blog posts. gl bro.

That counts, and I don't need a drug safety lecture.

Officer safety is their first concern, and your safety is their last concern. Walking toward them for any reason is a bad idea.

Eh, not really. A lot more paperwork if they shoot you.

That's not how they make spur of the moment decisions. As harmful as any drug might be, your advice on this front is extremely dangerous.

I wasn't specifically addressing you. Also it's the war on drugs that encouraged the use of these untested experimental designer drugs vs. drugs that have been around for a while and their effects on the human body are well documented.

And now he's crying "victim", and asking for money. I guess he didn't have a bank account either, and that $80k cash was all he had.

I think he was hoping to fool enough people into covering his legal fees so that he has a shot in spending less than a decade in prison. He might still be in the deluded denial stage where he actually thinks he can walk away from this with no prison time.

Sorry for your friend. May I recommend he read The Trial by Kafka for commic relief while he is on the lamb?

Also, tell him that just because he views his posts in certain ways, doesn't mean others will see it the same way:

“The right understanding of any matter and a misunderstanding of the same matter do not wholly exclude each other.”
― Franz Kafka, The Trial

Sounds to me like he tried to order a bunch of methylone (bath salts) for the first time and got caught and its trying to blame it on the supplier

DEA right now

While that is true, it is also the same exact war on drugs that keeps people in the dark regarding newer drugs. Take all of the jwh variants (and other synthetic cannabinoids), for instance. Many could be extremely safe, effective therapy for who knows what, but no one is willing to pay for the ADME/Toxicity studies without a profit motive. I suspect the new american marijuana industry will also eventually partake in blocking alternatives too.

I do agree methylone probably wouldn't be a first choice in a less regulated environment. Same with paint huffing, etc.

Really, I just wanted to emphasize that it is dangerous to approach a roided up swat team, or law enforcement in general. That is one reason why rich people have their lawyers arrange for surrenders, etc.

I think if you take a step toward them, they're more likely to shoot you than than talk to you.

Seriously, I'd pick something else.
Seriously, it might be time to stop jerkin your gherkin to police brutality videos on YouTube. Your furry paws and soft mind aren't helping here - unless, of course, you'd like to contribute to Justin's defense fund? No better, more direct way to fight the power than that.

Thumbs-up for The Trial - the writing is top quality.

Life - it's so Kafkaesque.

So I have to contribute to a defense fund, or agree that advancing on law enforcement outside someone's home is a good idea?

Are those the only choices I have? I assumed there must be more.

I was on my way home from my office when I noticed 10+ federal agents outside my home, talking to my neighbors, and making me out to be a terrorist of some sort in my neighborhood. I kept driving, parked my truck at a friends house and took a taxi to safe hiding a couple hours away. Every where I’ve went since then, they’ve managed to show up hours later asking questions and gathering statements.

I have a couple theories as to why they may have targeted me and set me up. I believe it’s because most of my profits in the last year were made trading Bitcoin and various other crypto-currencies.

I AM is a young internet entrepreneur trying to build a successful business and create as much opportunity for skilled and talented like minded individuals as I possibly can. They apparently don’t see opportunity or success as a good thing in The United States anymore. If you don’t already have money and success – good luck getting there, unless you’re willing to sell your soul it isn’t going to happen.

Here's your problem: you cannot and do not differentiate between a SWAT team and a meter maid. It's not a bad angle after pulling down a few bong hits and talking with pals about abstract concepts - but conspiratorial paranoia is about as helpful to aspiring meth dealer reading this thread as Justin's blog plea is to his defense.

You sound like a butthurt meter maid. My advice was for anyone who thinks they should approach people with rifles to proclaim their innocence. (whom I originally quoted) The people with rifles don't care, and they don't like being approached.

You and I have a great choice - we shouldn't get ourselves needlessly caught up in the DEA's (or law enforcement in general) crosshairs. It's not at all difficult to do and it shouldn't crimp our lifestyles an iota.

And when matter like this arise, either with dudes we know or in a format like this, we can profit a bit from sharing insight - and not contributing to ignorance. OP's unarmed buddy was not going to die in a hail of bullets in broad daylight in front of the whole neighborhood. Frankly, all he'd have to do is approach without a weapon and his chances of death via spontaneous combustion would have remained greater.

OP's friend doesn't realize it, but that one line is pretty much a confession to his crimes. His own mind betrayed him.

That's what happens when you make a large rambling blog post instead of staying silent.
