Anyone else think this is a good place to start a new industry? Selective case studies? Only have 10 people try it, and those 10 have to live/eat/sleep at the center so they can have the best results, so that 'typical' == best?

^^ good point and not too difficult to implement. A lot of people will participate just for the publicity aspects, as long as they sign the form that says you own every bit of footage/results from the study. They used to do this on dateline nbc. I remember seeing an episode where they conducted their own test "drunk vs sleep deprived". They separated people into two groups, about 10 each (5 male/5 female). One group drank wine and booze, while the other just stayed up all night watching movies/playing games, etc. Then they had them take a driving test. Shared their results with the world and not surprisingly they found that drunk and sleep deprived produced similar shitty driving results. Only took about 24hours to conduct.

"a diamond is forever"
(well we think at least because nobody has been around for forever)

"show her how much you care"
(we can not guarantee she will notice)

That's an idea. I'm sure if there are loopholes will figure out a way to exploit that. If all else fails Shady's idea may be the only option.

Seriously, the chances of getting caught are slim and it really only effects rebill offers. If your selling legitimate non rebill offers that arent receiving tonsof complaints then how the fuck would they sniff you out?

This is just a scare tactic against shady offers like acai and govt grants. They cant monitor every campaign on the internet.

You know there are some people that are going to complain no matter what you do. I know people who have complained about someone sending them information that they double opted into (usually about 1 complaint in 100 sign ups).

I have looked at plenty of book reviews on Amazon and people say stupid vague shit. This alos leaves the opportunity for your competition to complain or to hire people to leave nasty feedback around to destroy your business. This is a bunch of shit. However, remember you guys if all you have is glowing testimonials and feed back, your credibility is at risk. Nothing is perfect for everyone.

But feedback needs to be more useful than "this sucks". Hell, what did they think sucked, what were they trying to learn or do (software and books, training). I don't put any stock into any broad testimonials.

I actually thought taking an honest approach to testimonials would result in customers that trust you more, and hence possibly increase conversions rather than a whole bunch of glaringly obvious ultra positive remarks... but then again im the one whos nearly broke, so I cant be right, as usual.

I thought the same thing for a while... Then I figured out that people are dumb fucks that like to be told that they WILL succeed, they WILL lose weight, etc.

Never overestimate the intelligence of the American People...
I think there's a nice middle ground. People are going to read what they want to read.
I know I've mentioned this before, but simply having the text imply that there's some kind of future orders does wonders for not getting complaints. Stupid people will skim it, get pissed, come back, see it, and think "shit, I missed that".
Smarter people(who wouldn'tve fallen for the over-the-top shit anyways) will either still not buy, or will and know what they're getting into.

You don't have to say "HEY guyz this will cost you $85 per month"
Try "Over 85% of customers decided to continue recieving productX even after the free trial was over"

An Ebay seller will have loads of negative feed back and still there's plenty of dumb fuckers willing to shell out £200 - $300 for a laptop and then wonder why it hasn't been delivered or it don't work.
There will always be idiots to sell to.
