Fuck CPanel

WF is on a Softlayer Dedi right now isn't it? Kind of a downgrade to go a Linode VPS, I don't see dedi on their list, and the highest package they have is 2.8GB ram, 128GB hdd, and 1.5TB bandwidth. Also isn't Xen virtualization slow as fuck?

Afaik the virtualization overhead hovers at 10% of the total node capacity.

And last I checked our bandwidth usage was averaging 350gb per month, so we don't really need that much bandwidth.

We'll be switching to a highly optimized software stack, which will allow us to load the site faster with fewer server resources. If I have time I might make a post about it later.

Ahh ok, I didn't have a real picture of what WF was running in terms of traffic and usage.

why not ask cpanel support? i believe ur problem will be solved in 1 day

I already figured it out without their help, nothing I was doing wrong, their servers were down, they came back up, installation resumed. Even the buycpanel.com couldn't get it going while some of their servers couldn't resolve.

And why 1 day? Why can't it just work in 20 mins or less like DirectAdmin?

And I'm thinking you haven't followed the thread either.

lol. I was kidding about the cloudsites bit. I thought the "pwnjoo" would have made that obvious. That being said... I do believe rackspace does have thier cloudsites thingamajig set up to allow reselling from your account with white label panels and billing. And with the ability to host an unlimited number of domains of a single account with load balanced traffic... its actually not a bad setup for reselling space... but their panel kinda sucks nuts and if your client has a hardon for cPanel it wouldn't work anyway.

Sidenote: $150 for hosting is expensive? for one website I could see that being true... but if you own 100+ ? Am I missing something? I pay nearly $300 for my gigabit dedi from singlehop.
