Fuck da Police

Man, you got it twisted.

When a cop pulls you over, it's yes sir, no sir. I don't give a shit what you got on ya. Yes sir, no sir. Sorry for the inconvenience sir.

Pissing off cops is never a good idea. They CAN do whatever they want, and it's your word against them and their buddies. You lose.

Only if you have actually done something wrong, broken the law (severely) or have something to hide, should you do this.

yeah you've obviously never dealt with a redneck cop. if you piss them off, they WILL pin some shit on you or bring you in just as an inconvenience.

The less you say the better off you'll be. They want you to self incriminate yourself so they can nail you with a crime. Never allow a cop to search your car or invite them into your house, make them do their job..

I know a friend who pissed off a cop and that cop tailed him for an hour waiting for the guy to go 1mph over the speed limit.

It's never a good idea to anger a cop, no matter what you've done, or haven't done.

At 1 AM in the morning if there's anything wrong with your car you're getting pulled over. Seriously they'll pull you over just to see what you're doing at that time and all they need is a reason.

Smoke your bowl before you leave and use some Visine.

I'm glad cops can't run fast, that's all I gotta say.

So you are admitting to eating an illegal substance that you had on your person while you were driving a motor vehicle? Sorry no sympathy from me. Conduct your shit while you are planning to be at home for the night.
There's a difference between having it on you and actively using it while/before driving.
Believe it or not, Marijuana does not generally get from place to place via people running alongside the freeway with a backpack on.

I was out promoting a new year's eve rave several years ago with a friend of mine who was throwing the party. He had his business partner's Hummer and we were on Robson St. in Vancouver handing our flyers (I know, total douche vehicle, but it was an old school classic H1 style fwiw).

After we were done we took a drive over the Ambleside, a park in North Vancouver on the waterfront, to smoke a joint. On the way back we passed by the North Vancouver cop shop and sure enough, 2 minutes later we were being pulled over just before getting back on the Lion's Gate bridge to head back downtown.

Buddy says to me, "here stick this down your pants" and passes me his weed. I'm like "WTF", but the cop was on his way to the window so I didn't have time to think about it. Cop comes up to the window and says he can smell weed... ok, fair enough. So a couple more cop cars show up, we get yanked out of the vehicle and get the full pat down. I had two unopened beers on me and they took those away from us, threatening a DUI, even though they were unopened.

The cop cuffed me and kept patting me down, groping me and giving my pants a shake repeatedly. Lucky for me the elastic in my Calvins held and the plastic Smarties™ container never fell out or got felt. The truck got searched pretty good but there was nothing in it.

Long story short, they gave my buddy a 24 hour road side suspension, and called a tow truck. A flat bed shows up but after a lot of measuring and humming and hawing, they figure the Hummer is too wide to fit, so the owner gets a call to come pick it up. We get driven home and swear to never go back to North Van to smoke a joint.

I really don't like drinking and driving, but I've driven with a ton of people that were stoned and I've never felt like they were impaired. The aforementioned friend above used to always smoke, all the time, and while driving. His ashtray in the car usually had 50-100 roaches in it. When stopped by the cops in Van they would just make him dump it out. Big difference between Canada and the US authorities when it comes to tolerance for weed consumption.

However, we went down to San Francisco with some friends from the states for Gerry Garcia's memorial in Golden Gate park and the moment we got into the rental car they started passing the pipe around. Arrived at the park at around noon on a Sunday to watch 30,000 crying hippies.

I wasn't a Dead Head so that was an interesting trip.

Did your friend had any special reason for you to hold on to his weed? I hope you kicked his ass later.

I consider cops like any other worker. I treat them with same dose of respect they show to me because I can make their life miserable just as they can make mine.

Probably cause he was driving. You have to understand the climate in Vancouver though; even if the weed had been found on me there's little chance that anything bad would have happened. They would have probably just taken it away. North Van cops do have a bit of a hard ass reputation though, so I might have spent the night in jail or something like that. Doubtful there would have been a fine, criminal record or any of that other nonsense.

Here is the single most important thing you need to know regarding cops and getting pulled over.

THE VERY SECOND YOU ADMIT WRONGDOING OF ANY KIND THEY CAN SEARCH YOU.

So, if you get pulled over with a headlight out don't say "Yeah, I knew that". Say "Really? That must have just happened. I'm a safety nut ever since I had a friend get killed in high school and I check them every week".

Or if they say you were speeding do NOT admit it. Admit nothing - ever - to a cop.
