Going Vegan

These threads are always way more severe than the religious threads which I find amusing.

And on that note, I think the world would be much more open to the vegan lifestyle if it wasn't all or nothing.

I do not have the patience to read through all of the dumb ass posts so I may be saying something already said (doubtful) all you need to do is decide do you want to be a normal sized man and have a good testosterone or be a skinny woMAN and have NO testosterone.
Testosterone is made from CHOLESTEROL Good luck with your shrinking balls

Just saying this seems like what a repressed homosexual would say about cock

I love the taste of meat, the smell of meat, I used to love to cook meat and season it to perfection. So for someone like that to completely forgo meat (whether it's a sensible decision or not) takes quite a bit of passion. I'm not asking for a pat in the back or any of that shit. I'm just saying that this decision, whether misguided or not, takes dedication. So, yeah, I am going to be over the top about my beliefs.

Maybe you'll feel differently when your dick won't get hard at age 40 and you find your wife blowing the pool boy at home when you leave work early one day.

80 year old vegans still get hard as a muthafucka.

We call them vegetarians ;)

I tried to go vegan for a month, because of a video saying it helped with stamina. for jiu-jitsu. There was a video I had watched..something about meat rotting in the long intestines of humans and and all carnivores have small digestive tracks.

I tried, and I just couldn't do it. I never felt full, I felt tired and sick. It was miserable.

You didn't eat enough :)

Well that was another problem, I would only be "full" (if you can call it that) for just a short time and then be starving again. And when I ate, I never got that satisfied "full", it was more like if you drink a lot of water on an empty stomach. Your belly feels like its full, but its water logged, and your still hungry.

I don't know, maybe I didn't give it enough time..it was only a week or week and a half, but it wasn't for me. I tried. I eat plenty of fruits and veggies now, but I need some fish, chicken or steak in me.

Fish and fish oil is so healthy for you, I don't know why any one would cut out fish in their diet.

Yeah a week isn't enough time to adjust at all. It took me a good 2 months to fully adjust.

Think of it like quitting cigs or not fapping it. Shit takes time.

wow this thread just took a turn for the worse

just eat healthy, happy animals from legit farms. and if you really feel bad, do what the native americans did and talk to your food

also yes soy is hidden in a ton of foods but if you're not a retard and can read ingredients its not that hard to avoid...if you eat real unprocessed food you should rarely encounter it

and finally, m0rtal, you don't have to be a vegan to explore new fruits, please don't pretend like only vegans get to try awesome fruits and vegetables

lmao. Were can I find all those happy herds of animals grazing peacefully in nice, open air "legit" farms? papua new guinea? I hate to break it to you but there ain't no happy animals left on my side of the equator. Only someone who hasn't really looked in to commercial farming practices would ever say such a thing. Happy animals my butt -if someone shoved you in box, needled you all day with hormones and antiobotics, stuffed your face with grains 24/7 that you didn't even like eating and then to top it all off, probably beat you every day because they didn't like how your horns looked that morning before sending you off your merry way to the slaughter house, how happy would you be? And before you even mention free range animals, that is one of the biggest jokes the industry has ever pulled on us.

Those need to be some seriously zen animals you're talking about.

Regarding the OP. If you can, go raw vegan. It really takes it a level above and you will feel it. I get 10x more done then I ever have before and I attribute a big part of my financial success to going raw -because I am far more productive and mentally acute.

Maybe that's anecdotal -in fact it definitely is. But I would encourage anyone to at least give it a try and judge for yourself. You have nothing to lose except maybe 20 pounds of fat and a body full of crap.

Congrats man it really is the shit isn't it?

I'm only vegan right now, but I was raw vegan for 5-6 months and I felt like a beast. I slept like I was a care free kid again and I had the most vivid dreams all the time.

It's almost annoying when it first starts hitting you. I remember actually sitting at work and having too much energy, and I didn't have shit to do and I wanted to just be doing something so bad.

In fact, when i was raw vegan it was the only time in my life I've ever been able to just hop out of bed and be fully awake and alert. I need to get my shit together and just start juicing 24/7 and cut out the cooked crap.

By the way, how many hours of sleep do you usually get? When I was raw I couldn't sleep longer than 5 hours.

Hey,

Yeah, I sleep about 5 hours on average probably, sometimes 4 actually, but I feel far more refreshed compared to the 8-10 I used to get when I was eating a fair amount of junk. Can't compare really. I sometimes have a 20 min or so nap in the evenings as well.

I mostly blend, I essentially lifted a slightly modified version of eben's morning shake for my breakfast which is pretty awesome. I usually juice once sometimes twice throughout the day too. I take some digestive enzymes with it (not really necessary since juice and blends are digestible already) but I notice it makes the process even a bit more smooth. Especially when starting out, I had some stomach upset when I first started juicing and the enzymes really minimized that. But really being raw has made me a beast in terms of my output.

So why did you end up going back to "regular" vegan? Were you only juicing when you were raw?

There's this guy on Youtube, called the liferegenerator I think -he pumps out several videos a day of him juicing in his RV. The guy seems slightly out there but he could even make dirt look like a delicacy with how he makes, talks about and drinks his juice. For someone getting in to juicing I suggest watching his videos.

I went back to regular vegan because I still work a regular job and didn't have the time or money to go all out like I would want to.

If I had it my way 90% of my diet would be from juicing/blending and I would just do that 5 times a day. Im curious how the digestive enzymes worked out for you?

I read a post a long time ago on welikeitraw.com and this guy was talking about how he got down to 4 hours of sleep when he was mainly just juicing.

Even though I can't go fully raw vegan right now, I always wondered if I could achieve the same results in regards to only needing 4 hours of sleep, if I took the enzymes after eating food that had been cooked above 118 degrees or just eating heavier food like nuts.

I've always wondered if you could sort of "trick" your body like that maybe I'll try soon..

Hey,

The enzymes help but I'm not sure that they would substitute juicing if you're trying to sleep less, but it's worth an experiment. Although I think part of the issue if you're eating a lot of grains or meat is inflammation which is going to remain a problem despite the enzymes and I do think that effects sleep as well.

BTW, you want to take the enzymes before your meal -not afterwards for best effect.

I take quite a few supplements (I'm a VIP customer on iHerb LOL) but the ones that seem to do the most good, from my experience after having tried a a LOT of them, are the ones that target the gut and inflammation. Digestive enzymes, oxygen droplettes and a probiotic are probably the main thing I keep with me. Everything starts at the gut so keeping that heathy pretty much keeps everything healthy. They've made me feel a heck of a lot lighter even on the occasions when I eat grains or wheat products or large amounts of pasta (which is rarely in social settings where I can't escape it) For someone who has been eating a lot of junk in their life (as I had) I think a few supplements to help the gut recover are a good companion to going raw. Just made the effects a lot quicker and easier for me.

I think Steve Pavlina had a 30 day (maybe 90, I'm not sure) experiment where he went full on raw -but he ate actual whole foods without any blending or juicing (or very little of it). He ended up concluding that it was the most energetic that he had ever felt on a diet but gave up on it due to the difficulty maintaining it. I think blending and juicing eliminate a lot of the hassle with raw foods -that's why it took me quite some time to finally sick with it because eating cucumbers and other veggies raw just isn't my thing. Since I work online I'm more flexible in what and when I eat. But I've found it somewhat tricky to keep up when I'm travelling which I've been doing a lot this year. I only juice/blend 3 times a day as any more then that becomes a nuisance to do for me. I eat some nuts, seeds and whole fruits in-between which is a lot easier to keep to on the road. I have a shaker bottle with me with some powdered greens that I'll drink if I'm on the road and really can't juice. It's a bit of a hassle being raw, especially if you aren't in to the natural "whole food" taste of vegetables, but the results do make it worth it if you can minimize the hassle as much possible.

Nah it's the same concept.

People should embrace a healthy eating style and that's it. If you go around saying your a vegetarian then you are not "allowed" to enjoy the occasional steak. This is why people reject vegan/vegetarianism all together and that's too bad because if you live this way 80% of the time then people would be a fuck of alot healthier.

Sweet, just a couple months ago you said you'll never do it!

Go a step further and try to cut out the following:
Fluoride (tap water in most states, most of bottled water. Makes you more calm and less aggressive, was used in concentration camps by Hitler and Stalin.)
MSG (a drug that makes foods taste better. It is in most shit foods like microwave foods, chips and other crap you find in the aisles of the supermarket)
BPA (in most alum cans, plastic water bottles. It is an artificial estrogen. Enough said.)
Aspartame (don't chew gums, don't drink diet coke crap, sweetners like sweet-n-low)
Corn, soy, white sugar (GMO crap. Studies on mice have shown that mice that eat it are alright, their kids struggle to reproduce, their grandchildren cannot reporoduce!)

IMO cutting out fluoride might be more important than cutting out meat, then again they feed arsenic to chickens!

hahaha fucked up world we live in, gotta adapt.. or die. ;) Good luck bros.

Why are you wanting to cut something out that makes you more calm and less aggressive, not to mention it being good for your oral hygiene?

Personally I think a lot of the 'gains' people obtain from becoming vegetarian/vegan are a result of them becoming hyper-aware of what they are putting into their bodies. I often see people talking about how they no longer feel lethargic after switching from meat to non-meat and then you ask for a run down of what they were eating to what they're eating now and you'll see that they've cut stuff like soda, highly processed carbs (white bread, white rice) and moved to organic vegetables.

I think it's a great thing to become nutritionally aware, I also think it's important for meat eaters to find out where and how their meat is sourced. Personally for me, when I am in my home country I'm happy to eat meat - especially in my home because I've seen where it's sourced from and how it's butchered and I don't have an issue with either of those things.

That said, I don't eat a lot of meat and most of what I do eat is kangaroo which is a pest in Australia and has sanctioned culling.

Militant vegans are just as annoying as militant atheists who are just as annoying as militant meat eaters.

I have a friend that is 99% vegan and then eats a burger or steak 1 time on the weekend.

Whatever works for you that's great, I just LOVE meat so there is no way I could maintain just eating it once a week. I would crack really easily and just end up eating it every day.

Like telling a crackhead to only hit the pipe on sundays lol its not going to work.
