Google Chrome... holy shit!

I mix and match my browsers, I really like the web developer tools in IE8, really useful for looking up coding problems quickly. Going to give chrome a try as everyone seems to be liking it.

Edit*

Just got chrome and it is fast! +1 recomendation

The only thing that is making me to stick to FireFox is RoboForm some SEO plugins that are still compatible with Chrome/Iron.

I can't find it right now, but the creator of Iron has straight up said that Chromium is no different and is updated more. When asked why someone should use Iron he said, "how else am I going to make money ;)".

Thanks Subigo, I'll be looking into this The Chromium Projects.

Might give this a shot as well Chrome Plus.

From the home page:
ChromePlus has all the functionalities that Google Chrome has. More, ChromePlus added some useful features such as Mouse gesture, Super drag, IE tab, etc. Meanwhile, ChromePlus is free with no function limitation and you can use ChromePlus to surf the internet in any case.
Guarantee!

1. No malware inside.

2. User private data protection.

Been using Chrome for Mac for the past week and a half. It's beautiful, streamlined, and amazing. Gave me the ambition and initiative to change the look of my entire screen.

Mac users should join the dev channel and download the dev updates. So much better than the beta version out right now.

I'm also using Chrome.

Human, that's the same background I use. I love it. Enough texture to give my eyes something to track on without distracting me from work (or play.)

You guys crashing your Firefox all the time -- I use Firefox for 12-14 hours a day, with several add-ons, and I have crashed maybe twice in the past 6-8 months. You must be using some unstable add-ons or something.

3.6 is nice so far, too... seems speedy. Still eats up RAM, but I think a lot of that is Flash.

I use 2 firefoxes at a time (one for each screen). The main issue I have with FF is that occasionally it jumps up to 50% CPU and I have to restart them. This issue seems to have lessened slightly with Windows 7 and maybe the latest firefox updates.

The real reason I continue with FF is the quality of the add-ons. I just keep finding good plugins.

Can chrome do this stuff yet? Seriously, I want to know.

- unhide passwords
- password exporter
- tree-style tabs
- cool previews
- download statusbar (mini)
- keyconfig (fuckit, doesn't even work properly on FF anymore)

If you think your brand new fresh install of chrome is faster, try a fresh install of firefox and see how it compares to your 6 month old install with 32 plugins and 60 tabs permanently open. I wonder how chrome performs once it's been thrashed like that for a few months... If it can stand the heat then I'd give it a go. I love firefox but it drives me nuts with performance/resource hogging issues after I've been using the same install for a while.
