Rumor has it that the Nexus One is going to be $99 if you buy it directly from Google. Let me be the one millionth person to say, it's about time. I don't have a need for a cell phone contract, but I do use android phones everyday with VOIP... looks like I'll be upgrading my G1.

edit: Fuck me. After finding this same story on reddit it looks like it's probably just a rumor. Still, fingers crossed.
 


The Nexus looks like the same exact same phone as the new HTC Android. What's up with that? If that's real, I think it's a bummer. They should come out with something unique at least.

Say whaaaat? I've never had more dropped calls than I did when I used Sprint or Verizon. Where I live at least, att/tmobile are the only carriers that even work in my apartment. If someone on verizon walks into my kitchen they don't have service.

Yeah, that's the first I've ever heard of that.. Verizon will probably be buying out the other companies real soon anyways.
 
Please let this be true. I am dying for a nice android phone on AT&T. Getting the Tilt 2 with WinMo around Christmas but I will have 30 days to take it back if this phone happens.

AT&T is a joke. I am excitedly waiting for my contract to expire (January) to switch to Verizon where I will actually be able to use my cell phone when at my apartment or anywhere else in the entire city.

i like the roaming part. specially for people like me who live in the heart of europe where 4 countries are about 50 miles away. don't like the fact ttho that google is going to gather even more data with this...
 
The google phone will be equipped to go on the Tmobile network with just a data plan using Google Voice. Should be interesting to see how that pans out.
 
For everyone saying the Sprint network is better than att/tmobile/etc... I'm sure they are, just not in my city. And to make things doubly clear, they ALL suck. That's why I don't use a cell carrier at all. Waste of money.
 
I think we need to wat and watch howz da new Google phone is going to work. I'mnot wrong sure there will be soem problems initially with drop calls or with voice clarity etc.
