Hey, cheap guys, I need your inputs

Stmadevelopper, thank you so much. But you lost me:

We will be selling subscriptions to our (unique) service, that's the only stuff we have to sell. Couple of hundred dollars a year. We will only have one site promoting this service, too.(that's logical right?) We can have many landing page.

We need to bring quality traffic to our site and are willing to pay for that. Budget is quite large as long as it brings prospects who convert.

--> I was hoping that someone could tell me something like "yeah, with that tool/service/knowledge, your ads will show up on every stock market related blog, bringing you the traffic you guys need".

Am I on the wrong forum for that? I really am under the impression that I'm not, but man did I take a bad start ;-)

behnk01, the "no" are often the more interesting point of vue. So you believe PPC would remain the best fit for our business?

If you find time to elaborate, thx in advance...

The best place for you to start your research would be to place yourself in the shoes of the prospective customers you hope to attract. Start by searching Goog/Bing/Yahoo for terms you think they might use, then click through to some of those news articles, blogs and other relevant sites. Analyze the ads showing on those sites and what networks are being used to serve such advertising.

Joevis, thx. They are gazillions of people out there willing to explain us stuff for money.

We need experts and results. What is your business precisely?

Some pointers:

1) Even though this may be a ghey webmasters forum a newb must always approach the members with an offering of a well thought out, mildly researched question and some quality smut of your choice (note: this will say much about you so choose which pics you post wisely)

2) Do some research. Learn about what an affiliate program is. Look at what other people in the same niche are doing already and try to figure out what is or isnt working about their promotion strategy. Do you even know what you can afford to pay for a customer?

3) Until you start asking questions that demonstrate that you have at least a basic understanding of what you want to accomplish and how to do it (which you can get from digging around online) you probably wont get very helpful responses. But the folks of WF are actually pretty fucking cool and helpful when they see that someone has asked a legit question and isnt just asking them to take time out of their day to provide answers that are readily available on the interwebz.

So....

1) Research
2) Epic Tits/Ass/Box pics (the more the better but quality is better than quantity)* followed with educated questions.
3) ????
4) Profit

*Botched boob jobs, wizard sleeve labia and other undesirable types of images will actually hurt your chances of success. The quality of the answers you receive will be directly proportional to the quality of your offering.

And you expect that to happen on a forum post where you used slang, talked about sex, and said we were cheap?

You don't have the knowledge of the market or you would have realized I was fucking with you up there.

Bluntly you need an experienced affiliate who makes money in the financials vertical. Find the highest ranking affiliate sites for your topic, get whois info, contact them, pay them to guide you.

Or there are literally hundreds of us on this board (many thousands more who don't make a dime) who make our living off this stuff that can steer you in the right direction, but seems like your knowledge is lacking enough that you aren't going to get the help you need on a forum.

Sorta feel sorry for you, I've had hundreds of clients who have burned through previously valuable employees by making them suddenly a webmaster, affiliate manager, technical guy, etc...

Whatever you do/did before you got told to do the website is what your experienced in - - the rest of this is a lot more complicated than you think.

Nah you dont need any of this just broadmatch the keyword "stock market advice" on google adwords with a minimum 1 mil budget and make sure you bid high enough so you're the 1st spot.

stmadeveloper, you got me indeed, I didn't realise you were making fun of me. Of course I'm a total newbie here, and don't get 20% of what you guys say.

And I alos know you know I'm probably 2 times your age, and as "cool" in real life as a grey bespoke flanel suit.

But trust me on something: with the right people, you can achieve many, many things in business.

I might find the right guy around here...

Thank you,

Alex

FerrisHilton, isn't the " I'll bid until I win" systematically worse than the "long tail" strategy?

"Systematically" is the keyword in my question. Because if it might be as simple as "we're better capitalised, so we'll crush our competitors",we'd definitely give it a try...

Obviously you are better capitalized, that's a no-brainer.

Look this is a waste of my time, most people on the forum who are geniuses at google adwords such as myself aren't giving you info because it's not worth their time unless you pay them exorbitant amounts of consulting fees.

That's why you arent getting any kickass info. The best info you have gotten so far has been from the stadeveloper guy. Find your target demo and appeal to them.

Of course I'm a total newbie here, and don't get 20% of what you guys say.

bbbbboooooooooobbbbbsssss

^^ get 20% of that right and you'll get all kinds of answers.

You were referred here, so we've obviously got a rep of sorts. Now you just have to play by the rules. Fail with this and you'll be paying some secretaries to post spoon pics for us.

the hierarchy of scumbagedness

used car salesmen -> financial trader -> new car salesman -> insurance companies (including life) -> banks

so go take your "what if" business practice and shove it up your truffle oiled asshole

If you are in charge of online marketing, then I would have to say your company is fucked.

While reading this thread, my first urge was to insult you, then to help you, then I became overwhelmed with a feeling of pity.

If I were you, I would spend the remaining time selling your boss on the idea that you are going to fuck it all up big time, and that it's OK. Once he is sold on that idea and accepts that initially such outcome is inevitable, then you stand a chance of keeping your job long enough to actually learn how to do it profitably.

Otherwise, the sex might not be free anymore. Eventually, you are gonna have to start charging people for blowjobs in order to support yourself.

Good luck bro.

bcc 423, on the one hand, it's worse than you think. I'm in charge of everything web related.(besides all order routing and back office of course!) one year ago, we didn't even have a website! Doomed to fail?

Maybe...but on the other hand, we just don't give a ****. This is not our core business, just smthg we'll be proud of if we succeed. We're gonna be ok, even if we screw up this project.

So now it's my turn to wish you good luck. May you "fail" as miserably as me in life, and you're gonna be just fine.

Angel of wealth, I'm sorry you can't live with people like me on earth. But I can definitely do with people like you, so we're halfway there.

make a lead gen form
run traffic to it
find out how much you can afford for each lead
talk to a network
put the lead gen form onto the network
pay money get money ho

That's what I was talking about. See you will screw up because you don't know anything. Then your boss will hire another company - a real seo/sem firm that will charge him 3 to 10 times your salary to get it right.

The bad news is that you won't have a job anymore because you failed so bad.

Lulz.

Pay somebody well who's competent in that market and knows what the hell he's doing. I know you companies tend to be stingy motherfuckers when it comes to lead gen (the most important part of your biz!)
