Yer most welcome. Spread the word if you can... This is the kind of thing that can really re-energize Paul's base and get us in double-time-march-mode.
While they still haven't answered the question decisively on how many more delegates this is going to get Paul, a smart-sounding commenter on DP said that this likely doesn't unbind the winner of the straw poll in that state, just everybody else... So in a state like LA, the majority of the delegates are still bound to vote for Frothy the first round, but Romney and Newt's delegates aren't bound to vote for him there at all, ever.
So likely it won't be a huge drop, more like 1/3rd of the bound delegates, turning Romney's current ~700 into something like ~550. <-my math.
But of course if the first vote at the RNC doesn't give mittens his 1144, then nobody is bound anymore, and every delegate in the room is free to vote for Paul.
So the game is unchanged, just a bit more breathing room.
Ron Paul will be MURDERED before he gets the nomination to go against obama. You know from my post history I'm dead serious about this.
I believe you, and if you look back to my fall and winter 2011 posts you'll see me agreeing with you time and time again.
However, since then I've learned, very well, than Paul isn't some rouge underdog that the majority of the public doesn't agree with... He IS the voice of the majority of americans... MOST of America does in fact right now want to see him in office and the GOP knows this very, very well.
They know that Paul-inspired seats are replacing their own people at an alarming rate in localities across the country. They know that every single day that goes by; their ranks are fewer and fewer. And we're not talking about some timid liberals here; pretty much every gun owner in the USA is included in this bunch! Even our resident Nazi is all in for Paul...
When they knocked off JFK, the media controlled the masses, so there was no hunt for the conspirators... But Paul's people inherently distrust the media now, so that obviously isn't going to work.
The only conclusion to this realization is that Paul would become a HUGE martyr. First they'd have every gun nut in the nation organizing and trying to hunt down and kill them; and then if they haven't been found, the most likely corporations and banks that oppose Paul (Goldman Sachs? The MIC? The Fed?) Would be ostracized and lose all of their power as the American public chooses to never do business with the murderer of their martyred saint again.
...And that's being generous.... It's actually kind of likely that it would start a real, bloody revolution.
