This is interesting to see how it's going to play out. I did some work for a deaf couple once and you can just pick up the phone and call them same as anyone. They have special operators that simply relay your message instantly Via Phone Screen, the deaf person responds via screen Ect. There is a short delay but otherwise it's the same as having a regular conversation.

Not that she'll let a call between you and her ever happen just FYI

But seriously, I list a lot of stuff on CL and the higher value items always have the scanners out in force. I just disregard the emails that don't automatically go to my spam box.
 
make a unique url on a site and give it to them, give thema reason for visiting

track it and wait for the visit, I doubt they will use a proxy - could reveal some clues.

edit: or link an image in an email, from your server - say its a pic of the table or something
 
pretty simple: find out who you're supposed to wire the money to- and notify the police about them.
 
Yeah I'll call the cops once she gives me the info. Just got this email back :

the check would clear tomorrow and then i would update you with the movers information on payment the amount for the movers fee is $2,150, and the payment would be done before the pickup is done.

HAha, the TDD thing is so rampant I've known the operators to stop in the middle of the call and tell the person this is a scam.

Local police will mostly be concerned that you don't contact the person anymore and fuck with them. You need to call Chris Hansen ;)

Even if you do want to fuck around with them, don't ever give them your real info.

This is a good idea- but don't dickroll them yet- just get the IP and see if it's a proxy or not. More ammo for the cops.
 
More lulz if he dickrolls the cops with the enhanced evidence link and they decide to raid OP's home and confiscate computers and gay porn collection.
 
I would just take the check, find a bum on the side of the road to cash it telling them they can keep $300 (or anyone that stupid, really) and that my ex is the one that works there and wont cash it for me. Something along those lines, but you get the point.

Just pass the scam on and stop being a pussy.
 
Mail her back the check and with a cd that says "proof I sent to cops". Then dickroll, either way dickroll is needed.

Back in the day we used to always embed pixels in emails

Or you could always send pics and host them on your server if she has them disabled

If she uses SMTP you can trace her ip from the headers..

Get the wire addy like others said

If they are in the US pretty good chance we can get him / her put in jail
