People figure this out without college. College is just white collar corporate training, unless you already come from money.

No college whatsoever and no interest in ever going... but that's not to say it's not worthwhile for everyone else. I've just always hated being told what to learn; what's important and what's not. The only regret I have about not going is maybe missing out on campus living.
This thread honestly comes up at least once a month.

I've been through high school. I'm a sophomore in college right now. I'm not here to learn, to tell the truth. I haven't learned much that I didn't already know or that wasn't common sense in school. I'm here for the experience.
Regarding the common sense thing, I did very well in high school. Not because I tried, but because I applied. I applied my common sense to the subjects at hand, in addition to the things I already knew, and therefore did well.
Got a few big scholarships to a few smaller school, so I figured I might as well go to college. For the experience. Yeah, I've learned a few things, but the things Ive learned most haven't come from any classes. They've come from my own personal experiences in a college setting.
Plus, if I ever do have the need to go get a job somewhere, that college diploma will do a nice job of getting me where I need to go.

Hmmm....Lets see....I am 19...Stuck in an engineering college that I completely detest...Have no interest in it.....already earning quite handsomely for my age...
......I am also planning to come up with a few BIG projects pretty soon(not related to IM, but definitely funded by IM

My interest has always been towards design, hence I plan to attend a post grad school for that. Not because I'd land up designing something for the Ferrari or something, but 'cause I love the subject and dealing with all those real time projects in that 1 year sure sounds fun! As for the learning part, I am yet to discover how a year's study in a college could ignite the creative side of you in a design school!
Although I have not yet given up my engineering school(I have almost 2 more years to go and around 5 re appears), I do wish to drop out as I also feel I am wasting a lot of my time that I feel I could use in a much better way. But when I think about it, there is something that stops me from leaving it. Not that I am having a blast in my uni life or something. Probably its the security point of view at the back of my mind, that if ever in life I need a job(I so hope I do not, because I'd hate it like hell), at least I'll have my degrees with me!

I dropped out when I was 19, had zero interest in school. Washed cars at Avis for a while, did some other BS jobs. Got into IM (porn at the time) and been self employed ever since.
Now 8 years later, I'm back in school studying psychology, not because I think a degree is beneficial, but because I find it interesting*. Don't go to school because you think its what you're supposed to do. If you don't see a value in it, wait. Maybe one day you will.

Went to school for architecture, got bored, dropped out, was in the Air Force for 4 years, got into online marketing about 10 years ago...the rest is history.

I'm going to college next year (a senior in high school now). In fact I am going to lose financial aid because of it.
I want to start something big in artificial intelligence. I feel that studying with brilliant professors in the field is probably a good way to figure out exactly what I am going to do with it. Otherwise I wouldn't be going.

Those who knock college are forgetting a veeeery important part: College chicks are there. In droves. You can sit next to them in class and you have the whole semester to try and get in there. The parties are awesome. :girl::evil_laughter::hitit_sml: If you are of college age, go to college.

Started out as a Mechanical Engineer major, decided that even though I fucking LOVE cars, sports cars, engines, racing, etc (like seriously, the first thing I do when I wake up is open up AutoBlog.com. I sketch engines on the margins of my paper in class, etc) I decided that I wasn't motivated enough scholastically to work that hard in the physics and math classes, plus I want to work for myself.
I switched to Business Management and Entrepreneurship under the impression that it's a bit easier and I can just get that damn piece of paper to be able to fit into society. Plus it's a pretty general degree so whenever I fail with whatever I'm trying to do to make a living working for myself, I should be able to get a decent job almost anywhere to make some money while I clean up my act, get reorganized and plan my next business venture.
One major plus is that I'm only spending 2k a year on school. I attend LSU which has a pretty low tuition cost if you lived in state, along with the fact that I got a state sponsored scholarship to pay for tuition for 4 years to any school that's in Louisiana just for making decent grades in HS. If I don't finish in 4 years (which is going to be the case), tuition is only like $2500 or so per semester so it's not that big of a deal. So yea, I don't really have an excuse NOT to go to college (yet :338
