How not to make money online...

Yeah. He fucked himself when he tried to take out that frozen money and bounce to Dominican Republic. Oh yeah, and when he threatened the witness.

Good money, tho. Drugs are bad, mmk?

fuck this kid is an idiot. fuckin 30 years is a hell of a long sentence though.

30 years is way too harsh... Is the American justice system competing with China to see which one can hand out the most outrageous prison terms? I am filing this sentence under the category of cruel and unusual punishment.

I see court- sanctioned vigilantism is making a comeback in America. Absolutely ridiculous.

5 years is the max he deserves if his rx drugs didn't lead to anyone's death.

And if I was the parole officer I'd let him out in 3

Yeah the punishment is WAY too harsh, I agree.

I think there needs to be a happy median between the U.S. and some of the countries here in Europe. Here in northern Europe we tend to be WAY too nice to prisoners. Rapists, murderers and pedophile fucks get like a slap on the wrist with 4-5 years in prison (even less if they claim "insanity", which is easy to fake). That is a disgrace and a spit in the face to the victims. The prisons here are also more like nice motels with tv, your own computer and shit. What a joke. I've read inmates say they are happy in prison because it's the best life they have ever had(!) And since they will get out in short time, they will want to commit a new crime so they can get back to the sweet prison life! Sad but true.

But in the U.S. it seems sometimes people get life in prison or 30+ yrs. for stealing an apple. 30 years for running an online drugstore? Come on... Make the guy do some useful unpaid community service for the poor and elderly or something since he appearantly has some brains. It's not like he raped and strangled some kids - like the punishment makes it sound like.

30 years... WTF! Murders get less than that...

Oh, I forgot, you guys kill them don't ya? (About the only western country that still does).

I think it's a fuckin waste of my taxes paying to support a prison population that generally isn't given chance to contribute to society while inside and so over crowded that rehabilitation is reduced to a level where re-offending is expected.

I hate to live in the land of the 'free', the land of low taxes.. and be supporting how many thousands (millions?) who aren't being rehabilitated at all.

Let me guess.. you guys have got private companies running your prisons too...? and making millions from it no doubt.

I bet the European prisoners will forget all about those perks when Bubba Butt-rape comes a-callin'

Or do European prisons actually make a half- decent attempt at preventing prison rape?

30 years sounds about right, and it wasn't just about "running an online pharmacy." He threatened one of the witnesses and asked about hiring a hitman to have here killed. After he got in trouble the first time he just opened another pharmacy and tried to hide money.

I don't know where he got his drugs from, but generally they are produced by unlicensed factories. People are sick and need real medications, if something is messed up they could die. Granted, if it was all viagra or cialis its not such a big deal. Either way its a good business to stay far away from.

What's your point, Andrew? The guy is just a baby- face, he's not gonna survive in prison.

Is that the sentence America is technically handing out to this young man, a violent prison death sentence?

Smith admitted that he got his wife, his father, his mother and stepfather to help conceal cash from the government, having them wrap $100,000 bundles in plastic and hide them in cereal boxes. Smith admitted concealing about $1.1 million this way.

Well shit, there goes THAT trick! Anyone have any better ideas?

I'll never understand why people who break the law flagrantly like this don't move overseas to avoid being arrested by the US. His business was online... He could have easily ran it from a country that wouldn't care about his illegal operations (or at least where he could bribe the officials into not caring). This guy deserves every year he got for being so FUCKING stupid. If he gets murdered in prison then he deserves a Darwin award for his incompetence in running an illegal drug ring.

Hiding it in tin cans of peas? Or has this one been overdone?

I guess you could only fit a lot less than 100k per can.

The big pharmaceutical companies have done much more damage to people than he could ever do.... from 'encouraging'/bribing doctors to prescribe addictive drugs to blocking the manufacture of life-saving generic drugs in places that really need them...

It's the money-above-anything capitalist wankers that run Pfiefer, Glaxo-Smithkline, etc that really deserve to meet some meathead (who's mum died cos she couldn't afford their drugs) in a dark and dirty cell....

Naw, he's probably going to go to some minimum security prison. Basically a country club...

As someone previously mentioned people could have been hurt by his products. Now imagine what time he would be doing if he was selling crack...White collar criminals get off way easy.

I heard he was going to a federal pound me in the ass prison

You'd have to be pretty big to get 30 years for selling crack... but then I guess he was pretty big and his drugs were illegal.... but yeah, he'll get off lightly compared to a similar scale crack or smack dealer/distributer.

This reminds me of a thread a while back... some guy (you around mate?) was sick, couldn't afford to see the doc and was self-diagnosing and buying meds online....

It makes me really fuckin sad (and angry) that people have to literally risk their life with dodgy drugs cos they can't afford proper medical care. They pay their taxes, their government should help them out when they are ill, not spend their money giving tax breaks to rich companies and giving planes and missiles to Saudi Arabia and Israel.
