I got a couple deaththreats on DP. Never respond. It drives the threat maker crazy. They do it for the attention. If you respond publicly or privately, that's what they get off on. They want to rock your boat, from their pathetic place in the universe, they enjoy reaching out through the web and making someone feel fear.

Actually, they typically make your home owners insurance go up...if you have a dog that's considered a "dangerous breed". Reason being is lawsuits that can result from bites. Cocker Spaniels technically bite more than any other breed, but when they do it;s not usually a major injury.
I had a 110 lb German Shepherd up until March 31, 2009 and had a hell of a time getting good coverage at an affordable rate because of it (between the hurricanes and the dog). He definitely was a deterrent. 2 days after he passed away from cancer, some punks tried to steal a fucking trampoline out of my backyard.
