HP Touchpads for $89.43

Got mine. If you live near a wal-mart, just go over and pick it up. They should have some if you don't live in a populated area.

The Wal-Mart near me made me wait until the website had the "pick up now" option and the $99 price listed... which just happened a few minutes ago. Going to pick up another one in a minute.

Seems that every 3rd party retailer outside of HP has only a few hundred in stock at max.

I called the local walmart in my town of 12,000. They normally have quite a few, and they said a guy was at the electronics counter right now @ 7:30 buying all they had.

On a bright note i've had enough emails from people on other forums i think I can account for all of mine.

On another note, it will be quite interesting in terms of free market economics to see where the price floor on these will be at. HP and everyone else sold *maybe* 100,000 combined units at the slashed prices. That's not enough to meet demand as from ONLY the forums I've read, people wanted more than they got (Plenty of people out there bought 30-50 units of either model). However looking at ebay short term auctions, the 32gbs are going for $250 and the 16gb are going for $200.

I think if I was HP I would take a look at those numbers and consider the perceived value of their product.

wow, people are going crazy over this.

I would buy one, but can't find it in stock anywhere online.

This is what troubles me most about buying a discontinued product: "OS provided: HP webOS 3.0"

HP TouchPad Review - Watch CNET's Video Review

How much longer are the apps going to be supported for this thing? Or does it run the iPad's apps?

OTOH, this part looks good: "delivers Adobe Flash-enabled Web browsing" because as I recall the iPad doesn't run flash, or does the new model?

"In the meeting, webOS GBU VP Stephen DeWitt made it clear that HP intends to continue to work on webOS and likely intends to license it. "

And no it doesn't run iPad apps. And no the iPad 2 does not run flash player.

I tried ordering from Microcenter and Walmart pick up, both got canceled...lol. I was too late, oh well.
