V3 Solar sounds like they've found a way to use existing techonologies to make a spinning solar panel that gets... Wait for it... 20 TIMES as much power per the same area of solar panel!

They (cryptically) claim today that they've "signed its first licensing agreement of 800,000 Spin Cells for what will potentially be the largest solar farm in the Southern Hemisphere."

Here's hoping... Looks pretty sweet!

Shouldn't you be focusing on your adsense farm instead of posting these inane threads? You're posting like 2 threads per day sometimes. Shut up already.

Fascinating. From the website:

Can this go on my roof like flat panels?

One Spin Cell produces as much energy as five flat panels. So if you needed twenty flat panels to power your house, you would only need four Spin Cells. We are exploring various aesthetic solutions from ground mounts in the yard to mounting along the edge of the roofline. If we are going to change the future, it might as well be beautiful!

I hope this really pans out. The global warming act pushed through by traitor Schwarzenscheisse is gonna skyrocket CA energy bills. With these you could tell the power company and environmentalists to suck it. I'd leave the lights on all day to piss off the greenies.

Who the fuck are you, douche? LukeP is an established legend around here, batshit crazy as he is, he still has 1000X more respect than you. Watch your fucking mouth, peasant.

Uh........why would they not have the WHOLE outer shell as a magnifying cover vs. the 3.....1 inch wide ones?

Uh.......was that video showing Real Time Rotational speeds?

Uh.......why are the panels BLUE instead of black when everyone knows that BLACK absorbs the most amount of light?

Uh........where's the automatic Bird Poop Cleaner/Remover up sell attachment?

Uh......HEAT actually HELPS solar conversion as in SPEED of electron transference right?

Uh........It's a Purty Blue, it SPINS, and has Cool Looking Magnifying Thingys!!!

C'mon...I mean REALLY?!!

Read this article: V3 Solar Cells Rotate with the Sun, Produce 20 Times More Energy - Mobile Magazine

Just as "I" thought, existing solar panels ALREADY CAN FOLLOW the SUN throughout the day "AND" can have the 56* tilt on them. (You can't Patent an angle!! lulz)

So, their ONLY breakthrough from the data I've seen is the little magnifying bars they've got over the solar panels.

And, it's not even those that they're claiming to be responsible for the 20x better output. It's the 56* tilt angle!!!!

From the article
: "The angle of the cone-shaped cells is what allows them to produce more energy more effectively.
V3Solar says they position them at a 56 percent angle to the sun."

(Way to BLAB out to the other solar companies your "secret" while showing a Prototype. ROFLMAO!!)

My name is Pace Lattin and I am also a legend on WF. There's even a stickied thread all about me here!

I don't know if this is bull crap or not but in reality is solar or wind for that matter ever going to be able to deliver a decent percentage of our future energy needs.

Let's assume the potential is 10% - 15% of the worlds energy needs. That's cool but we still need the other 85 - 90% and it worries me we're investing in stuff that's never going to deliver instead of chasing efficiency, hydrogen and clean nuclear of some sort or in other words big picture solutions.

For every person bolting a solar panel on their roof which in itself must take several years to offset the energy cost in manufacture, there must be 1000 new energy consumers in emerging markets.

nuclear is clean, wtf are you talking about

err... Germany shortly produced 50% of its energy needs with solar alone this summer (we also have wind and water energy).

More to come as investors flock to renewable energy and technology gets a boost from money and time / experience.

Also: Google investing loads in renewable energies (as do other big industries)

Yes, there are a lot of hindrances / annoyances / bugs to be kinked out of renewable energy, but the impetus and motivations are really easy to grasp.

  • Get rid of pollution
  • Almost free energy - driving energy costs down is actually good for any economy
  • Fossil fuels will be depleted at some point. Although the exact time is debatable, the fact that fossil fuels are finite is not.
  • Get the fuck out of conflicts over energy. Resources embedded in Russia, Africa, and the Middle East? Fuck no.

good marketing, but I'd like to see it in action hooked up to a multimeter.

Seems like they're blowing smoke to gain interest.

And they're doing a great job convincing simple minded fools like LukeP. Like with everything else, LukeP didn't bother to do any serious research on whether or not this product is bunk and just posted it complete with his typical....WAIT FOR IT...hype.
