I should or should not have a website/blog/etc? I dont know the terminology exactly yet, but I think Im doing what is called 'affiliate' marketing, where I go into clickbank and choose an offer to advertise and get some money for every person to click on the ad and buy things. I havent actually started yet because I dont know where Im supposed to put the ads, I heard somebody say you dont need a website to advertise them but I see no other way, I dont want a website either, what are some other ways to advertise your affiliate links? I guess list them in order of profitability, and include having a website on that profitability scale too if you dont mind...

Firstly, hitting up ClickBank and promoting them will be your first (and probably final) mistake.

Heres a question: would you buy from one of those sales pages? Look at the product and, if you can HONESTLY say you would buy it, promote it.

However, in CB's case, most of the products are a joke.

Before you even THINK about spending money on a website, advertising, whatever... lay down a plan of action.

1) WHAT am I going to accomplish.
2) HOW am I going to do it?
3) WHEN do I want it done by?
4) HOW will I make it work?

So, mine looked kinda like this

1) WHAT am i going to accomplih?
25 casino referrals in November of 2006
2) HOW am I going to do it
Classified/PPC marketing
3) WHEN do I want it done by?
November 30
4) HOW will I make it work?
I will create a website and polish it to bring in traffic. I will not rest until it is converting.

Find an affiliate program that offers a product of value- stay away from ClickBank.

Good luck :)

I thought that was what everyone here was doing... My knowledge of this subject is so limited Im struggling to even halfway comprehend whats going on... I thought everyone here was selling something for some other company and taking a small part of the profit... *sigh* I really feel like Im not understanding any of this, because I thought going to clickbank was finally a step in the right direction... This forum is obviously not for total newbies, and if it is then I am beyond newbie and need something even simpler, are there any resources that I can read that are way, way, simpler than all of this to explain step by step? Because I cant pick out quality material, I was actually going to try to buy DayJobKiller til I read that it was useless and only for stupid people on here... I think everyone is getting it except me, I dont plan on leaving this forum because I can tell whatever is being discussed here is quality, but I think I need to find somewhere simpler to go, because it seems I have a lot to learn before I can understand any of whats on here...

No offence but I'm surprised Jon has not banned you yet, with questions like these I don't really think your ready to be a full member here, I may be wrong, the final choice is not my decition but you seriously have to take a step back and start reading about everything from Affiliate Marketing, SEO, Website Development, Website Design, PPC, Arbitridge, or focus on one thing, become a master and pay other people to do the rest.

just curious but where did you read about getting rich selling clickbank product?

This is an easy question, he probably learned where the other 50,000 newbies learned, a place called Warrior Forums.

Clickbank can be an excellent source of income and has worked for some of my sites.

If you can find good products there that AREN'T INTERNET MARKETING RELATED, that you are willing to promote, a decent PPC campaign linking directly to the hoplink will work. People still do this type of marketing but I am not sure exactly how profitable it is, considering you actually have to pay for each click to your affiliate link.

I find it better to write my own website, use PPC to direct them to that website and then have them follow my affiliate links. This way I can promote more than one product with that clickthru I am paying for. There's just more opportunity when you have your own site. Collecting email addresses, cross promotions, ability to use business card (and other offline method) advertising, etc.

Bottom line: PPC only = quick and risky
Your own site: Profits for life (if you keep it updated and don't give up)

Your exactly right, it was Warrior Forums Im sorry to say... I am so inexperienced I dont know when Im going in the wrong direction and obviously they must have been sending me in the wrong direction... And I dont know when Im asking stupid questions either...

And I may not be coming back here til I think I am ready, I would just say please dont ban this key because when I AM ready I would like to still be able to use it, and that list (Affiliate Marketing, SEO, Website Development, Website Design, PPC, and Arbitridge) is a good list, see I didnt even know what some of those are and much less that they all fit together, I will look them up on wikipedia for starters...

I cant really tell what 'level' this information on this forum is at, whether its supposed to be newbie info, or really advanced info, but it does seem beyond comprehension right now without some more simple areas of study behind me.

This response is bullshit. People have to learn somewhere dude. The way he asked for help is legitimate in my mind.

I could almost suggest the binder books from marketingtips.com "Insider Secrets" for basic knowledge in an easy to read format. It is expensive but I think this product would actually help him learn much quicker than reading forums. It covers all the basics, however, the sales letter is misleading in that it doesn't really reveal any "secrets" not known by thousands (if not millions) of people.

This set actually helped me jump start my marketing efforts and got me making real money faster. Now I am self employed.

Affiliate link? Nope.

BTW, after buying one decent marketing book, you won't need to buy anything else. They all say the same crap over and over again.

Another suggestion, head to the library. They have some excellent (but often old) books on internet marketing. These are free to take out and you'll learn more there than skimming posts at Warrior Forum.

The response might be bullshit but its the truth I've seen newbies like this get banned before, maybe they did something else wrong to piss Jon off but besides the fact this forum is more meant for intermediate people or at least people who know what the terms mean.

I agree everyone needs to start somewhere and I'm not saying I won't help this guy out with what he wants to know, I'm just saying that I wouldn't be surprised if he was told to leave and come back when he knows a little bit more.

As for Warrior forums, you shouldn't really be listening to all their sell an eBook from click bank and make a million dollar advice they have, there are good ways to make money online but they are not as simple as some would think, yeah if your willing to learn, then most here are willing to teach but a lot of the really basic stuff is probably better you research on your own.

Its not hard to find basic knowledge on these things with a bit of a search.

That's essentially what I said as well. Don't be an idiot like me and write your first site on internet marketing products. That is what everyone else does. Seems like most people's first site is "How to make money selling online" with 10 internet marketing ebooks through clickbank.

You won't make shit doing an internet marketing site as a newbie. There's MILLIONS of pages just like it already out there not making shit to justify this.

Tip: Search this site for "niche marketing" or just niche. Go on other forums and search google for niche marketing as well. I guarantee you'll do better than following what WarriorForum suggests (selling internet marketing ebooks, writing your own books on internet marketing when you are new, etc).

Hell I won't even bring myself to write an internet marketing website or blog, I know I've got enough information to do it but its the point that its a harder area to convert people two, I'm thinking about working on my own personal blog which will feature some of the things I do online that are related to internet marketing and i'll be able to make some alright money with it.

The one thing you'll eventually find is that your not alone in being a newbie, there are ton's of people out there who want to find a quality way to make money online but there is so much shit information about how to make 5K in 5 hours or how to make a million selling eBooks that newbies get confused, sign up for a few get rich quick programs, loose their money thinking they will make some serious cash and get frustrated and leave.

This is also one of the main reasons why I don't even bother starting a website or blog on affiliate marketing, there have been so much newbies who have been burned in the past that when they do find good information they are likely to just think its not useful and keep moving along.

I'm not saying this type of thing cannot be done, there are lots who have made good money in this particular area.

Anyway that was a bit more off topic then it should have been, here is a list of some things that you could research do get you started.

1) SEO
2) SEM
3) PPC
4) Affiliate Marketing
5) Arbitridge
6) Web development and design
7) Keyword Research

That should give you a better idea of what to expect, now some will tell you that you don't need to focus on web development or design but if your willing to learn just a little bit about them, then you'll save yourself some money in the future, you won't have to buy or have someone else create one for you.

Keep focused, try not to learn everything about each example above, its better to learn a bit about one thing and then move on, other then that find something to motivate you because there will come times when you'll feel like giving up and you'll think its impossible but hang in their and you'll do just fine.

Totally disagree, Tenshaku is bullshit. If he would take the time and read the forum he would know what affiliate marketing is.

I don't walk out on the floor on Wall street and yell out "I want to make money, someone just tell me and I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground"

Well Aequitas, you just earned my respect back. Thanks for posting that to him. It will definitely help him I am sure.

There are newbies who deserve this sort of treatment and then there are newbies who REALLY want to learn. I don't think it was deserved in this case.

I had no idea WarriorForum had this much effect on people. I am a non-participating member there and I usually can't find anything useful to me on there other than a couple joint ventures here and there.

Well Thank You.

Simply put Warrior Forums apparently has 50,000 members and I've never met a single person who has been there that has learned anything other then how to make and distribute useless eBooks or how to waste their money buying them.

A large amount of the wicked fire community hates their forum because of that, Warrior mods say that they provide a ton of good information but I've never seen any and I've never talked to anyone who has learned anything of value from them.

Which means that there are 50,000 chicken's running around with their heads cut off.

Wow, you have no idea how much this helps, knowing where to look seems to be 90% of the battle! Im going to make good use of this information, and come back when I know Im ready. Thanks to Scott and Aequitas... Obviously I probably wont be back on the forums for a while because I plan on learning as much as possible about those areas first... Im pretty serious right now about learning how all of this works, since I now know that it can be made into a very effective and successful system... Thanks again, cya.

[EDIT] P.s... I know I caused some trouble on the forums with questions, but I was under the misconception that this was a newbie forum... Someone on another forum told me to come here because its a good place for newbies XD... Well, I guess he might have been wrong, but thanks a lot I now know what I need to look for to start learning the basics. Yep, thanks a lot.

You don't completely have to leave, just cut down on the complete newbie questions, if your having trouble understanding something that you think is still a super newbie question just come back and PM me, I'll do my best to answer it and to help you out.

Its sometimes better to do it this way so that you won't get flamed as bad, but the final choice is up to you.

Just read my friend, and if you have a question, do a search and see if you can answer it for yourself. You'll learn 1,000% more if you learn it yourself.

But definately check out HTML Goodies for basic web design, keep reading here for information and just try and pick up as you read.

Bottom line...

- You WILL need a website
- It is NOT impossible to make money, as a matter of fact, it is VERY possible
- It does have a learning curve...
- You will ALWAYS be learning.

:) Good luck.

This is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever read in my life. I'm honestly surprised you haven't been banned yet for all your stupid posts.

I wish I could neg-rep you until you died.
