Hello all, I'm a noob and this is my first post. First off, I want to say thanks to all of you guys bc I gotten invaluable info from this forum. So, you will def see me around more.

Now I think I found my niche and it gets around 3,500 searches monthly. The thing is, in google, no one has any sponsored ads for the term, in Yahoo only a couple of ads show up, MSN has zero ads also. I'm wondering if this number is too low for me to dive into and make $ and maybe, that's the reason no one has any ads? But, The top tier search term gets plenty of searches, but there are plenty of competitors.

Now when setting up my adwords campaign, I'm planning on focusing on the niche terms, should I be concerned that there are no competitors there? Also, should I set up an additional campaign for the top tier terms as well, although it's saturated? I read a book where a guy suggests people new to adwords, shouldn't try to jump out into the competitive spaces too soon.

Any advice would help, Thanks in advance.

Well, either you've found the best kept secret on the net, those keywords don't convert into anything, or something is copyrighted in your terms. If it only get 3500 searches MONTHLY, then how are you going to make much of any money with it? Its not something like black midget obese porn or something is it? Ohhh I've found a niche! lol

Doesn't sound like it'll bring in much, but still, throw a site together, upload it, start converting those clicks and forget about it. As a newbie you shouldn't turn down money on the table just because it's only a few dollars a week. You'll learn a lot from it too.

Either there's no money in it, or you got lucky and discovered something. 3500 searches isn't alot, but if no one else is bidding on it, at the very least you'll learn why. Only one way to find out though... test.

That being said, at only 3,500 searches, it could be something so specific that it's quite valuable... i.e. spectromatograph replacement lenses or something...

Unfortunately, it's hard for us to make recommendations if we don't know what it is, but conversely, you'd be an idiot to tell us if there's no one else in it at the moment.

Take kofi's advice. Even if it doesn't payout much, it's a a great learning tool, and you can maybe use it to figure out how to monetize other niches that are under exploited, or how to scale up your current one.

What are the organic results? With only 3500 searches, there probably is not a lot of competition and you could possibly rank well organically. I would say take it and run, you probably will not make much, but this will be an excellent learning opportunity.

Good luck
Matt
