Idiot Libs Pray To Obama

It doesn't matter whether it's for Obama, Bush, a good harvest or world peace, asking for help from some supernatural being, whom you personify based on a book compiled purely to advance a certain cause, at a certain time, is pretty fucking idiotic.

So yeah, they are idiots. But idiots aren't necessarily idiots by choice.
 


What seems more odd, praying to an actual entity, or praying to an imaginary entity that has never been proven to exist... Now tell me who seems nuts.

Heck , there has been quite a bit of research into whether prayer works or not, and every study I've seen done says it does work. Even if it's a placebo effect ,it was proven to work the MAJORITY of instances when people prayed for a certain event to take place.

Believing in God is no different than a kid believing in Santa Claus. It's the same exact fucking thing. You ask god for things, just like a kid ask Santa for things. God some how answers all your prayers, just like Santa Claus some how delivers billions of presents all over the world in one night.

And just like praying to god, Santa Claus sometimes gets you want you want. Did it happen because you asked Santa? No you fucking moron, because your mom knew you wanted it so she bought it at Walmart. Was it god that helped you start a fire when you where lost out in the woods? No, it was because you lite a match and started a fire. But wait, then you retards who will say... well it was an "act of god" that I had a match with me. No moron, you had a match with you because you picked it up before you left the house. It's as simple as that.

No ones seen Santa, just like no ones seen god. Santa is not the same in other countries, just like god is not the same in other countries.

And people get all defensive about god, just like a kid does about Santa Claus. There is no fucking difference what so ever. You can sit there an tell a kid Santa is not real, but no matter how much evidence and proof you show them... they will ALWAYS be right.

I don't see how adults can't figure this shit out for themselves. You might be an amazing affiliate marketer, billionaire or w/e but it doesn't mean you have true intelligence. It just means you're smart and have skill at something in particular because you have practiced it a lot. So I'm not trying to stereotype that if you believe in god, your poor, not successful, ect.

I don't see how anyone can think deeply into the subject of religion, and come out still believing it. Anyone who is a "deep thinker" would realize it makes NO fucking sense and if you study the past it's pretty obvious whats been going on.

People who believe in it are the type of people who just go with flow. They have been told it from a young age, everyone around them believes it... therefore they don't even question it because it "must" be true.

In my opinion, the most important kind of intelligence is the type of person who is always questioning things and deeply examines "both sides" of the story. Anyone who does that when it comes to religion, would have there bullshit radar going off.

This is the last fucking time I visit this forum on Adderall... also did I mention THIS IS JUST MY OPINION. SO IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEM GO FUCK YOURSELF (Oh jeez, god might have seen me type that... am I going to hell? Oh wait, saying fuck you is not that that bad compared to the fucking tragedies this "saver" created. To name a few, famine, drugs, Murder, Earthquakes, Tornado's, cancer, ect. Theoretically, this is no different than Anglicanism.
If you're an Anglican, the British Monarch is gods representative on earth, therefore praying to god means you're praying to the queen.
Also note that there are numerous catholic sub-denominations that worship specific saints, as opposed to god.

I also seem to recollect some commandment or other about god being one, and only, and non-divisible, and that there shall be no other gods or false idols or icons before it.

But hey, internal consistency and logic in religion?
You may as well pray for a well written Dan Brown novel.
 
For the record my definition of "prayer":
The first step you take in prayer is to still the mind, and dwell on the attributes of God which are within you. For example, dwelling on Infinite Peace, Infinite Wisdom, Infinite Love, and Intelligence, with the realization that your own consciousness is God, insures the right mental attitude.

Not trying to be funny or a smart ass or off topic, but have you had a test for dyslexia? You may want to go get tested. Actually, Richard Branson is dyslexic and I have read studies (in grad school) that said that it may be a sign of superior intelligence (being quite serious here).

Also though - and this is so interesting - I read a post by Aaron Wall where he talked about some dyslexic guy making a killing because he was ranking for all these misspellings of words that dyslexics typically make that the average person would never even dream of because their minds, neurons, etc don't process info that way......

... Pubmed is about as legit as you're going to get. In fairness, the request from Turbo is a little absurd to expect a major scientific study on prayer. This is not the kind of thing that is going to get studied by non-theological universities & certainly there's a bias with scientific or biblical studies.

And no, I wouldn't trust a campaign's conversion rate with a data sample of 393 clicks.

People that support Obama don't live in reality or are too young to understand. People blame Bush for the banking crisis, but they don't realize that Clinton repealed the Glass-Steagall act.

This was a huge factor to the mortgage crisis, it created a huge secondary market with mega banks and insurance companies to structure wacky investment products. The average American has no idea what this is or how the financial systems work.

I'm all for the constitution, I just don't believe that non citizens should be afforded the rights, especially enemies foreign and domestic.

Do some research on Obama, this guy has a cabinet of socialist. They want to go into the health care business by creating the public option to compete against insurance companies. If that's not socialist. I don't know what is.

I'm not affiliated with any political party, I just call it like I see it.

Haha, if you are using your intelligence to deeply examine the possibility of a god, then why are you assuming they have to be a humanoid with a penis that floats around the clouds? People were able to take materials from the ground and transform them into computers capable of trillions of transactions a second. Plus Einstein showed that time is relative, so the idea of the Force having a time problem is amusing.

A broader and intelligent look at "god" can be found in certain articles from theoretical physicists. Also, buddhists pray and for most of them it has nothing to do with the Old Testament.
