In the World of Music, Where Do You Reside?

Sheesh. All the hate up in here. It's not as if these categories are scientifically studied and peer-reviewed. It was just a mildly amusing picture I found with a slight correlation to some of the music I happen to listen to.

And yeah, it's not as if I only listen to one type of music. That's just silly.

I hope OP dies in a fire! What a stupid fucking infographic and useless thread.

LOL, you get it. And also let's not ignore the fact that the image is making gross overstatements, and is not to be taken literally (which apparently was not obvious to some). I just find it to be an amusing picture based on my own personal experience with some music enthusiasts I've met.

Aww, that is cute. Two music snobs who feel superior to others due to their preferences in music rather than their ideas, vision, accomplishments and actions.

If I dress like level 6rs, can I be a part of you and look down on level 1ers too?

It's way more complicated than that.

Firstly, who ever said I felt superior? Also how can you even pretend to know what clothes I wear?

The picture is more about being exposed to other music, and being familiar with what's out there. You can compare it to someone who tastes wine for a living. Their sense of taste and smell is going to be far more trained than the person who is not a full-time wine taster. You might like to hear their recommendation, and you can probably benefit from their experience. But in the end what you do depends subjectively on you and your own personal tastes. I don't think that makes anyone superior. It just implies that someone has more experience.

What a great way to read this thread listening to live Steve Miller. +rep jryan21

I'm all over that infographic. Not a fan of country but some of the lyrics is funny as hell. About the only genre that makes me leave the room is blue grass. I still get a kick at how much fun other people seem to have with it though. Genuine happiness in their faces. Oh and I don't get most jazz. Man I've tried. To me it sounds like 5 guys playing 3 different songs while being in the same room for the first time. Too many people I respect love it though so I guess it's just me.

Anyway Shine on with those musical prejudices.

everything from 1 to 6

it's like saying what kind of movies do you like.

a good movie is a good movie!

PS: Most level 1 music is WAY better than level 2-6. Level 2 through 6 has some cool shit but far and away most of it pales in comparison to the great music from level 1.

Although great music is great music, regardless of level 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

fuck this thread.

I go 1, right through to 6, not much I won't listen to if it is half way decent.

1 - 6. All.

As long as it sounds good, I'm generally into it.

On a side note, how is classical music not even on this list? Seriously?

Some of the greatest minds of our time composed music and listening to it doesn't affect our alpha-music rating? wtf?

Cue the music snobs telling everyone how enlightened they are and how intolerant everyone else is.

Frank Zappa. 1 artist, all levels.
