I de-friend cheap people.

If they're poor, that's okay - we can go eat somewhere inexpensive.

But if they're a stingy mother fucker who stiff waiters, steal kid's lunch monies, or argue over pennies and dimes, I tell them:

"Nigga, shut the fuck up. You're cheap as fuck."

Ever been out, and had a friend's girlfriend / wife do A? heh, poor friend. Say 10 of you go for a nice dinner out, bill comes, and everyone just starts throwing money at the middle of the table, because nobody actually cares.

Your poor friend's wife will grab the bill though, and start looking it over. You can hear her whispering, "honey, I only had one ceasar, but she had two, and that lady over there had 3 glasses of wine! I don't think this is right!". You look over at your friend, and the poor guy is melting in his chair in embarrassment, lol

Your friends have to be on at least a similiar financial level to you. Otherwise it won't work and don't tell it will. Exactly those little situations will kill it over time. No matter it's dining, party, shopping or holidays - it simply won't work cause you have different aims and standards than the poor in this example.

That sucks, but it sucks worse when you're the one who had a main meal and 1 beer and other people in the group (20+ and not everybody knew each other) keep ordering bottle after bottle of wine.. then when the bill comes it's 65 euros (main is around 20) BUT goes up to 75 because one of the 'order another bottle!' brigade refuses to pay because "it can't be that much!"

Why the hell should you pay for people you don't know ? In such situations, I think nobody will go mad for seperating the bill. If it's a group of 20 people of not everybody knows each other, it's nothing but dump to pay all together, sorry.

You're missing the point of the thread amigos. I'm talking about people who are cheap to the point where it directly affects the rest of the group in a social situation.

Why spend your time with people who directly affect you / a group in a social situation in a negative way ? I'd just stop dealing with them.

i know many wealthy people, most are not quick to part with the dollars.
Some will spend freely on things they want, golf, boats etc.
Then the other side pays for pizza with change in a zip lock bag...lol

Who cares? if your friend annoys you let them know...if it isnt worth it..let it go

And.. by the way.. the air conditioned / well ventilated subway is much better than sitting in a closed box with a dirty man who smells like shit. On the subway if there is a homeless fuck smelling the place up, at least you could move to the other side of the car.

Last time I checked taxi's have air condition and windows that can be opened. You are in the back of a car by yourself vs being in a crowded subway with multiple homeless people who sometimes shit on the floor out of the blue.

The point is you shouldn't have to tell the taxi driver the shortest way back, or to not fuck with you, or to play by the rules. They should do it no matter what. It shouldn't be our job to keep them in check or make them play by the rules.

Yeah cheap people piss me off. You know when you're out with your peasant friends that only make 6 figures a year and it comes time to order Wine. Their all like "Lets get this $120 bottle of Cabernet and split the cost." Inside I'm thinking "fucking peasants trying to get me to buy part of their cheap wine." That's when I tell them to fuck off and drink a whole bottle of $300 wine to myself. When the check comes I just excuse myself to the bathroom. That'll teach those peasants to be cheap asses. Who the fuck do they think they are anyway!? Trying to lower my class to theirs. That's why I always ask to see income sheets, and tax statements from the last 5 years before I hang out with anyone.

Seriously though, who's the cheap ass here? I mean if your friends want to split it evenly just fucking man up and pay the whole tab yourself, or are you really the cheap one in the group?

Man, with all due respect, every time you post I wonder if you're really a new yorker. You should know by now that NYC is a jungle where everyone is trying to hustle, everyone. It's your responsibility to make sure you're not being hustled. My guess is if cab drivers are always dicking you around, it's either because (1) You look/act like a tourist (2) You're not giving them proper instructions. Anyways, that shall be the topic of another thread.

Just because somebody does not piss their money away like you think they should does not make it a disease to be cured.

What makes you think I piss away my money? There is a big difference between being a cheap fuck and being a "smart spender". If taking the cab back and forth to my destination makes me save 1 hour of my day, that's 1 extra hour I could do some work on. You prefer wasting that hour in public transit just to save $17.50? Be my guest. One hour is enough time for me to find a new profitable niche, buy a sweet domain and launch a WordPress site... while I did all this your ass will still be seated (or standing) in a bus.

Haha I've seen that happen a couple times actually and it usually happens when the woman is the one managing the finances in the couple. It makes me smile every time. Funny thing is she'll be a cheap ass like that over the food but then she'll have no problem buying a ridiculously expensive handbag that same day. Ohhh Women... let's not get there
